I've been startled by all the microaggressions that plagues DDO. Some examples:

1.) I was referred to as a human being. I am a white, straight male. That means that I am less than human. I am to be referred to as an oppressive, privileged piece of shiit. Anything else is offensive to non straight, non white, non males members of DDO.

2.) Somebody said George Washington was the first president. George Washington was a white male. It is much more respectful to refer to Georgina Washington, a made up African American woman who was the real first president. This is more mindful of white male privilege.

3.) We have gender signs next to each member's names. Let's not forget that there might be people out there that don't identify with either gender. Because of this, we need to have each member draw their own symbol to explain whatever gender they might identify with.

4.) DDO's background is largely white. This implies that DDO is a "white" website. We need to allow each member to choose their own background color because white privilege.

5.) DDO is in mostly english. This is NOT respectful of the non english speaking members of DDO.

6.) DDO uses words. What does this say to the members who don't identify with any language.

These are just a few microaggressions I have noticed. Any ideas on what can be done?

Nah, WallstreetAtheist or Freedo can just injection code the website to our liking. Much less of a hassle.

I forgot about that. Didn't wallstreet make the website pink at one point? That was around the time the character limit was broken, too. Things fall apart.

Freedo did the same thing but I think he added some floating animation to the front page as well.

I remember that Danieele and Mouthwash had a 75 page debate w/ the character limit broken.

If you can wear headphones at work, you might consider getting into some podcasts or tedtalks (they usually don't have visuals). That's what got me through my last desk job.

Can't actually. HR actually banned it this year because someone couldn't hear the fire alarm during a drill due to his headphones. He should've be put to death.

if i'm alone in the lab I could just put on a podcast though.
