The verdict on whether or not to indict the officer who shot Michael Brown is coming down at 9:00CT. This is going to mean more rioting, national news or some disgruntled people from both sides.

What's your take?
Thoughts?

Be sure to come discuss the verdict as well!

My thoughts is that the verdict/outcome was correct. Evidence does not lie. The 'witnesses' to the incident had stories that differed from one another. Some wittiness's testimonies changed as time when on and some admitted that they did not even see the shooting.

Be sure to come discuss the verdict as well!

Duh. That's often considered a sign of trustworthy testimony because it's a sign they weren't corroborating their stories.

That's not true. We all know black teenagers possess superhuman abilities and can brush off bullets like nothing. That's also why they had to shoot Trayvon.

O.O

They're not even rioting and they're throwing tear gas...I feel that the aggression of law enforcement at the moment is going to make things worse.

Well, not all of them were trust worthy. It was mentioned on television by the guy who was giving the grand jury's decision that some of the testimonies changed as time progressed. Also, some of the witnesses who gave their testimony did not even see the actual incident.

I have mixed, bitter feelings about all of this.

I know that you probably think he should've been indicted. Still, none of the eyewitnesses were reliable. There's no one's word to trust but Darren Wilson, and Michael Brown's earlier robbery makes it pretty obvious that he was in an aggressive mood at the time, meaning that he likely did attack Michael Brown.
This isn't completely equal to the Trayvon Martin case.

No, it's not equivalent to the Trayvon Martin case. Tomorrow night, I'll post more substantive thoughts about it. Tonight... this isn't something I want to think about.

As popculturepooka mentioned above, we all knew he wasn't going to be indicted... but I get sick and tired of seeing the idea that "if you are black, the justice system works different for you" reinforced over and over again; and especially when it's kids that are killed whether by cops or by paranoid gun owners in the south who feel entitled to stand their ground.

The Zimmerman verdict pissed me off more than this, though -but the reason the Zimmerman verdict pissed me off more is because of Florida's idiotic stand your ground laws. This mess out of St. Louis isn't like that.

I have mixed, bitter feelings about all of this.

I agree, but this isn't going to change...at least not in the foreseeable future. We'll deal with these cases a thousand times before change occurs.

The Zimmerman verdict pissed me off more than this, though -but the reason the Zimmerman verdict pissed me off more is because of Florida's idiotic stand your ground laws. This mess out of St. Louis isn't like that.

Again, it will be a thousand more cases until change happens...and it will be a long and tiring road until it does.

I have mixed, bitter feelings about all of this.

It's a cultural issue as much as it is a legal one. Black men/teen boys scare people, and as long as people are irrationally afraid of black people, this is still going to keep happening.

I don't see what everyone's deal is, so I can't speak for them...but there are towns in the US where 95% of the town is white (like mine), and that's really unhealthy for kids that grow up there. They aren't raised knowing that black people are normal...
