i pledge allegiance
sure
to the flag
except when we burn it
of the United States of America
and Mexico
and to the republic
that better be the same thing as a democracy
for which it stands
kfc
one nation
that is part of a world of nations and is no better than the rest
under God
or Allah, or Charles Darwin, or Richard Dawkins, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or, you know, whoever, or no one, cause it's not like it's that important
indivisible
been divided ever since the two-party system came into place (which George Washington warned us against doing by the way)
with liberty and justice for all
of the gays and illegals

anyone like? suggestions welcome. i was just bored enough to write that.

No.

What's wrong with burning the flag?

of the United States of America
and Mexico

I don't follow.

and to the republic
that better be the same thing as a democracy

It's not. Democracy is much worse.

for which it stands
kfc

K.

one nation
that is part of a world of nations and is no better than the rest

The US is better than all other nations (IMO). Being involved in the UN and other international organizations doesn't change the "one nation" bit all that much.

under God
or Allah, or Charles Darwin, or Richard Dawkins, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or, you know, whoever, or no one, cause it's not like it's that important

None of the above.

indivisible
been divided ever since the two-party system came into place (which George Washington warned us against doing by the way)

K.

with liberty and justice for all
of the gays and illegals

What? No liberty or justice for gays? And for illegals -- well that's just circular.

anyone like? suggestions welcome. i was just bored enough to write that.

No like.

I don't say the pledge anymore.

I pledge allegiance? Hell no.
To a flag? Hell no.
Only of the US? Hell no.
And to the Republic for which it stands? Yeah, some Republic it is nowadays.
One nation, under God? Technically, if you believe in God, you would believe that God is omnipresent. So, you wouldn't be under him, but near Him and next to Him.
Indivisible? Yeah, right. Bullsh*t.
Liberty and justice for all? That's complete bullsh*t.

Here is how I say it.

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Me too!

when I used to say it that is...

now I really can't

as I don't think it should be 'under god' or 'indivisible'

and as my allegiance is conditioned on the fact that I think it's a continuing force for good in the world.

Clinging to your old ideas is silly.

let them come as they will.

you might, in the future not like who you used to be... so

pledging allegiance to the you of today would be a mistake.

and if you (volkov) don't mean you of today... then what do ya mean??

I pledge rebellion
to the flag
of the United States Government
and to the Republic
or as it was:
one nation...
what the hell?
it's divisible!
...with liberty and justice for the poor.
in the blink of an eye you finally see the light

I'm not sure how I feel about this.... at times it really pisses me off when people mock, discredit, try and justify the actions, or even burn the flag, of his wonderful country so many have died for, however I also feel like that is exactly what I am fighting for, and my family and friends have given there life for, the liberty and freedom to mock.

Allegiance?

Gief money for allegiance.

Gief money and don't initiate force if you want that allegiance to last longer than it takes for someone freer than your country to come along.
It came to be at its height. It was commanded to command. It was a capital before its first stone was laid. It was a monument to the spirit of man.
