This one sentence pretty much sums it up.
It's an unusual bargaining position: give us what we want or we'll give you hundreds of billions of dollars and get nothing in return!
The Republicans have done everything wrong with Obamacare. The first thing was not participating in its design. Secondly, they have made it entirely a matter on principle, yet what they are arguing is completely misaligned with traditional conservative principles such as:
- individual responsibility
- not subsidizing other states.
Toss in the other incongruities such as supporting legislation which requires private hospitals to finance and provide emergency care to people who are dying in, say 10 hours, but don't want any type of legislation which gives care to people with chronic disease who are dying in 10 years.
The Republican and conservative position is logically a completely failed position, which is why they have to go at it by using rhetoric and instilling hatred as a method to combat Obama Care. It is very sad and a slap in the face to any person who values the use of logic in making decisions rather than emotion.
