Growing more and more irrelevant as each day passes. Failed presidential candidate about 40 times (or so it seems).

Essentially what Nags said, though he's also civil libertarian and a good orator. Could probably win as a congressperson or something, but he keeps going for a Presidential run for some reason.

Nader was the way that ultra-leftists voted "none of the above" in many previous presidential elections. Pat Buchanan was the ultra-right equivalent in the 2000 election, and they had an odd partnership of sorts in their enthusiasm for third party politics. He and Buchanan played a role in the tight Florida election that gave Bush his first term.

Nader originally became noted for his 1965 book, "Unsafe At Any Speed" that condemned the US auto industry for making unsafe cars, in particular the Chevy Corvair. The attack forced the Corvair out of production. The charges against the Corvair where later proven false, it was no less safe than any other car, but that didn't seem to tarnish Nader's reputation as a consumer advocate.

A biography of Nader revealed him to be a rather strange and unpleasant character personally.

He currently is 76, lectures, and says he hasn't ruled out a presidential bid in 2012.

No more ads forever.

Still going with same mantra, John?

I love ads. I don't like stealing from the websites I visit. And besides, sometimes I find some good stuff through ads... I found DDO through a facebook ad, for example.

He prefers having the government steal for him.

When you view a webpage, you're expected to view the ads on that webpage, so that the website you are visiting won't loose money by providing you with free content.

Problem is, if you're not even viewing the advertisements, the site looses money from you: http://arstechnica.com...

Imo, that's pretty much stealing.

He refused to pay the minimum wage, and had discriminatory hiring practices, while advocating the opposite in public. See http://97.74.65.51/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=13254

The site doesn't "loose" anything. Nor did it lose anything.

It's just as if you never visited the site in the first place, no harm done. Besides, the marginal benefit you receive in not having to deal with ads seems to be a much higher value then the owner of the site having liteally a few more cents in his pocket.

Imo, that's pretty much stealing.

Yes, ad-blocker is stealing but taxation is just dandy.

Besides, if you don't plan on acting on any ads then by viewing them you are transferring wealth from the ad producer to the site owner, which is effectively stealing.
