As we know, the American system has its issues (namely, a bunch of crazy old hags on the left and senile old bags on the right), and the crux of them is its Two-Party system. Why is it like this though? Let's take a look!

Well, let's say you have a third party candidate who aligns to the right. Now, let's say that 15% of the right vote for him. What happens? Well, the left wins because they remained united in their vote and obtained the majority.

However, CGP Grey has proposed a solution. Watch this short video on the STV system.

I have a degree in political science and this is actually a topic that is looked at in the field extensively but the consensus among the majority of the experts in the field say that this kind of voting would never work in the US.
