Can a person with my beliefs be classified as a Democrat?

What party do you line up with most?

The independent label has lost its muster as the party that falls in the middle, so where do you fall?
Why?

I get my inspiration from this article, http://www.cnn.com...

"Civil Unions: Pro
Freedom! If you want to get together with another human than allow it.

Gay Marriage: Con
I think allowing this is going in the wrong direction. Leave it up to the state. It should not be a federal issue"

I found this humorous.

Sure. The Democrats are a big-tent party, and welcome people from across the spectrum - the question is whether or not you'd feel comfortable with them.

What party do you line up with most?

"Liberal", around here is a dirty word.

Not really. Most of us just skip straight to saying socialist, except maybe you, a few other Texas Delegates, and Roylatham.
It came to be at its height. It was commanded to command. It was a capital before its first stone was laid. It was a monument to the spirit of man.

I try to stay away from entangling alliances or voting based on political affiliations. This is how classical small "l" liberalism was taken over by Progressivism and how neo-conservatives are tolerated by real traditional conservatives.

I'd rather vote on the principles and actual, detailed proposals of a candidate, rather than politicking and platitudes.

I'm an independent. I belong to no party, I think for myself.

Un-enrolled, and i would thoroughly encourage people to not sign up with a party. If half the country went un-enrolled tomorrow, all the party higher ups would be shaking in their boots.

Exactly. As long as parties now they can create division through unimportant smoke screens they will do so. I was watching a clip of the Rachel Maddow Show, and she said that the GOP spends about three million to drown out any progressive things that Obama is doing. It's said when people would worry more about there party gaining favor in Congress rather than helping out the people who have put their trust in them.
