Most liberal would probably be Barney Frank, Dennis Kuchinich, Maurice Hinchey, Jan Schakowsky, Alan Grayson and Barbara Boxer

The former is just the logical conclusion of the latter.

According to at least one analysis the most liberal congressperson is John Conyers Jr. and the most conservative is Ron Paul.

http://voteview.com...

(I know Conyers is actually listed sixth, but he's the first on the list who is currently in office.)

The American Conservative Union claims that these members of Senate all have a rating of 100 as conservatives:

BARRASSO, BURR, COBURN, CORNYN, DeMINT, ENSIGN, ENZI, INHOFE, THUNE, and VITTER.

They say the perfect Liberals, those with a rating of zero, are:

Akaka, Boxer, Brown, Burris, Cardin, Dodd, Durbin, Feinstein, Franken, Gillibrand, Harkin, Inouye, Kerry, Kirk, Lautenberg, Levin, Menendez, Mikulski, Murray, Reed, Rockefeller, Schumer, Stabenow, and Whitehouse

Read More :: http://www.conservative.org...

They rate based upon votes on key issues. It's interesting how many 100s and 0s there are. That means that ideological lines are rather sharply drawn.

Nation Journal ranks Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Roland Burris (D-IL) as the most lIberal Senators, and Jim Inhofe (R-OK) and Jim DeMint (R-SC) as the most conservative. In the House, they have Rush Holt (D-NJ) and Gwen Moore (D-WI) as most liberal, and Trent Franks (R-AZ) and Doug Lamborn (R-CO) as most conservative. http://www.sodahead.com...
