* Views his political inexperience as an asset - marked as a common man who understands the American
* Personal and anecdotal evidence of his understanding of welfare and public policy
* Generally socially conservative - he's a practicing Christian born and raised in Detroit (I think) and has been living in Baltimore.

Personally, I think it'd be pretty cool to witness a medical scientist take hold of the most powerful executive office in the world.

Read the article if anything. What's your take?

Thinking that he has a chance to win the Republican nomination, let alone the presidency itself, is yet another one of Carson's many delusions...

Under qualified? Probably, seeing as how he has little political experience. Overpriviliged? Bulls**t. He is an example of an American who grew up in a poor household and managed to achieve success. I wouldn't say that he'd make a good president, but at least don't spew crap like this.

He ranks high on my "personally entertaining" meter. I think the GOP should keep pack-in the nuts. Good fun for all.

Agreed. He's needed to help reform the Republican Party and to undo various Authoritarian policies. Unfortunately, however, there's a chance that he will lower taxes without significantly cutting various government programs, leading to a larger deficit.

Great, another evangelical who is fixated on the second coming, and thinks everything was created in 6 literal days.

Might as well be cruz or huckabee. Crazy is crazy regardless of profession.

So I didn't know until later today when my brother told me he was that kind of Christian. You wouldn't expect it from a neurosurgeon...

Because he makes all of his moral assertions based on his absolutely blind adherence to faith.

Maybe that's what we need, after all it took Pearl Harbor to get us to wake up. Balloon that debt!

Liberals have won/are winning the culture war. Conservative (which largely assumes religious) values are losing sway; I think we're at a transitional stage in our culture. In 25 years, I bet the new conservative will be the current moderate (or center left) on social issues.
