How will McCarthy's Gaffe (re: the Benghazi Select Committee) impact the 2016 Presidential race, if at all? Will it hurt McCarthy's chance to get the Speaker's gavel?

This has cost millions. We all knew it was only a political show, he confirmed it, the right still won't care, and the casual voter will only know of the "scandalss". No effect, but a Republican or two have to question their parties integrity on this crap.

Hey retard, Hillary Clinton is the one who is under criminal investigation by three Federal agencies, not Trey Gowdy. And guess what, her email server scandal is being investigated under the authority of the Obama regime, not Republicans.

Kevin McCarthy didn't "admit" anything because he's not the one leading the Benghazi Select Committee investigation. It's led by Trey Gowdy, a serious prosecutor who has stayed under the radar and conducted the investigation in a completely non-political manner.

Hillary is going to try to blur the two separate issues and use the McCarthy gaffe to vindicate her from the email scandal even though it has nothing to do with Benghazi.

Here's another fact. Benghazi hasn't hurt her poll numbers at all. This is a three year-old scandal and didn't even make a dent. It's the FBI investigation that is hurting her poll numbers.

That is true. It is also true that the republicans (admittedly now) have used this as a tool to hurt her in the public sphere.

Kevin McCarthy didn't "admit" anything because he's not the one leading the Benghazi Select Committee investigation. It's led by Trey Gowdy, a serious prosecutor who has stayed under the radar and conducted the investigation in a completely non-political manner.

Why should it matter who did the admitting? Gowdy pissed that "his good friend" blew the cover.

Hillary is going to try to blur the two separate issues and use the McCarthy gaffe to vindicate her from the email scandal even though it has nothing to do with Benghazi.

Your are right, the emails have nothing to do with Benghazi. Just like Monica had nothing to do with the initial investigations concerning Clinton. You wonder why we call it a witch hunt.

Here's another fact. Benghazi hasn't hurt her poll numbers at all. This is a three year-old scandal and didn't even make a dent. It's the FBI investigation that is hurting her poll numbers.

You are disconnecting the two, but they are directly related. The endless Benghazi bullsh1t lead to the email crap.

I think she DID make a huge error in using her own server. I could talk at length with a reasonable person about that error, but it seems you are on track to smear just like the Republicans that have been beating this dead horse for three years.

Hey look! I found the actual quote, buried underneath all this commentary about the quote:

http://takingnote.blogs.nytimes.com...

"Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right?" Mr. McCarthy, Republican of California, told Fox News. "But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee, what are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping, why? Because she"s untrustable. But no one would have known any of that had happened."

I don't really see this as nefarious. It's JUST a gaffe. Here's the beginning of the Benghazi committee on May 8, 2014.

http://benghazi.house.gov...

Here's the announcement she's running for president from April 12, 2015.

http://abcnews.go.com...

For those who may have missed it, the committee formed almost 11 months before she announced she was running. Did Republicans really have that much foresight? Or was McCarthy just pointing out that an investigation reveals that she's untrustworthy?

I don't think it meant what the media is saying it meant, either. But he said it in the most uncoordinated, retarded way ever. I hope Paul Ryan becomes the speaker... but I don't think he's gonna run. I hope he does though.

Immoral? No. It is against the law to use the public's money for the purpose of messing with a political campaign. It is an ethics violation of the house.

My point about the time is, the reply stated this in some feeble attempt to make it sound like "how could they know she was running?". That is very dishonest.
