As of Nov 3rd, RCP's polling averages now have Carson ahead of Trump. Trump watched 29.8 - 16.0 lead slip away in 6 weeks (and a 27.0 - 22.2 lead slip away in 3 days). Rubio and Cruz are the only other two that made any meaningful progress in the last two days, trying to make this a 4 person race, rather than a 2 person. Trump still holds a solid 13.7 point lead in NH, while Carson is 3.5 up in IA.

My shame and bewilderment of Trump support is only topped by growing support of Carson. My thoughts? What the hell is the GOP doing to themselves?

IMHO it's obvious that support for Carson translates to the religious right balking at the seeming inevitability of Trump's nomination. I've never seen someone so over their head in regards to running for office as Ben Carson.

What about Gingrich's "I'll build a space station on the moon" ploy?

Almost as good as Mexico building a wall.

Really, whoever can deliver the biggest whoppers are going to get elected,

Examples:
I'll close GITMO
I'll get us out of the Middle East.
You can keep your old insurance plan.

That's fairly reasonable except for the time frame.

Tithing the US population though...yeah, not how our government works.

With so many candidates in the field its natural that every candidate in the field has one opponent who is stronger than they are. Trump overtook Bush, Carson is overtaking Trump, then someone will overtake Carson.
