Yup, that's what I suspected too, but I wanted to see if Reason would elaborate using his OWN words and not quote bombing the forum.

You are all house negros in my eyes, conditioned to accept your authorities and capitalistic greed as natural when it most certainly is not. Maybe I will start referring to you all as such to emphasize your brainwashing.

I accept capitalistic greed as wonderfully artificial. Humanity exists where nature is conquered. Where it is not there is only the savage.
I do not accept present authorities :P

If you press caramel, he doesn't actually have any arguments against the fundamentals of capitalism. He's just bothered by a few of its outcomes, which are easily answerable. And besides, "capitalism" would respect his communities of 2000. Whats the problem?

I accept capitalistic greed as wonderfully artificial.

Greed that fuels all the worst evils in the world.

Humanity exists where nature is conquered.

Conquering nature is a fool's errand. Nature could chew us all up and spit us out in a heartbeat if it was so disposed. Until you lay down your greed and your pride you are not going to see that.

Where it is not there is only the savage.

You replace savagry with viciousness.

I do not accept present authorities :P

But you accept authority.

Only you can do that, my child.

I have very few answers, I am merely pointing out the illogic in sticking to capitalism when it so clearly harms us in so many ways.

Sorry about the thread, don't worry I'm sure we'll have 20 pages worth of arguing eventually that no one will want to bother to follow along with anyway because I've answered every question you can throw at me a thousand times before you even joined this website and I keep getting asked the same stuff.

I don't see that capitalism would work because if the communities are going to be equitable at all we are going to need to free people from their self-imposed slavery - we can't let the production of our goods and services be dependent upon the moment-to-moment whims of consumers.

House Negro, but only in the sense the Field Negros are trying to make a distinction between the two. The problem here is a Negro implies you'll always have the same status, which is untrue. You CAN be the master but start as a Negro. Thus, fail.

Yeah, Capitalism should be abolished. See all the greatness socialism gave to the USSR. But that's right! It was OUR fault people were lined up in the streets to get government provided toilet paper at the fall of the the Soviet Union!

Just because it is possible to work your way up doesn't mean things are rosy. Humanity is one big pig-pile with the successful people at the top, able to breath easier than the ones at the bottom of the pile. Is it possible someone from the bottom can fight through to the top and replace the successful? Of course, but not only is it highly unlikely, it would only achieve a rearrangement of the current inequity - not an increase in equity. So excuse me if I dismiss your optimism as BS.

Let me ask more simply. Given your detest for capitalism, what would you replace it with?

If they are easily answered, than why are we still wrestling with the same issues each generation, and election cycle?..Or better yet, who do we need to oust to change things?

He wants to replace it with communities of 2000 people who collectively own everything and live in peace. In other words, if his society is so great, he can go start it and convince other people to join. It is inherently capitalist. I pointed out to him that the Amish are the ultimate anarcho-capitalists. Where he gets his anti-capitalist label is that he doesn't want anyone else to have this hierarchical societies, even if they are 100% consensual.
