Exit polls suggest current pm Mariano Rajoys conservative popular party received the most votes and took around 27% of the total vote. This means they are set to win around 115 seats in the Spanish parliament. Well short of the 176 seats needed to form a majority. This means a first coalition in around 30 years will be needed to form a government in Spain. Both Rajoys conservatives and the main left wing opposition (socialist party that is not really actually socialist despite the name )parties have seen a reduced share of the total vote due to the emergence of 2 new political parties, one a far left anti austerity socialist party (podemos) taking votes of the main left wing party while the other is an economically conservative but socially liberal party (ciudadanos) that is taking votes mainly from the main right wing party. The centrists say they don't want a coalition in any circumstances meaning a possible coalition of the left looks a possibility at this stage.

My guess is that it will be either a coalition of the Left or a Coalition of the Right. It may come down to the separatists.
