Tom Cotton, the freshman senator from Arkansas who sincerely believes that a war against Iran would last 9 days tops, has endorsed Bernie Sanders for president of the US even though he 'espouses the economic theory of communism, a political system that caused the deaths of tens of millions of people in the 20th Century' according to Tom Cotton himself

http://www.cnn.com...

I have a couple theories behind why he endorsed Sanders yet hasn't even endorsed someone in his own party:

1 - He has an irrational hatred for Hillary that pushes him to support someone who ironically is way further to the left than Hillary

2 - He's genuinely crazy, stupid, or both

3 - He hopes Bernie wins because Bernie is the weaker candidate in a general election contest with whoever the GOP elects compared to Hillary

4 - He wants to stick it to the GOP because of some sort of personal dispute he has with them, even though he is one of them

What other theories can you all think of? Im sure that there are other ones that I simply havent thought of

I was at first mystified why Sen. Cotton would endorse Bernie Sanders. After watching him comment on Arkansas Today, it is my conclusion that it was a tongue in cheek expression of preferring Bernie Sanders to Hillary Clinton as the challenger in the General election rather than a true endorsement.

It looks to me like he see's Bernie as "Not Hilary", but doesn't actually support him.

Some polls show Bernie does better than hillary in a general election against trump and other gop, so #3 is out.
4 - He wants to stick it to the GOP because of some sort of personal dispute he has with them, even though he is one of them
