Yea, unhappy that. Presidents should not endorse primary candidates.

As to effect. This shores-up black support for Clinton.

Agreed, to an extent.

I disagree.

There is LOTS of time for Obama to step-up and help the democratic candidate whom ever it might be. Now, if it turns out to be Sanders, how does that look? It weakens the future endorsement or support.

Just in case you needed more proof that the establishment for the Democrats is doing whatever it can to stop Sanders. This is tantamount to sabotaging his campaign in Iowa.

Let me put it this way.

1) Obama "supports" Clinton in the primary's, she wins.
The appearance is the "establishment directed the primary"

2) Obama "supports" Clinton in the primary's, she looses.
He, Obama, looks out of touch with the base, and hands GOP a bunch of attacks.

But Obama didn't endorse anyone, so this hasn't happened. What he did was not bad form.

Ah. Okay.

And to be clear. I have nothing against the establishment. It is a very tough year for anyone that looks anything like "establishment", but it's not an insult.

Aside from not being GOP though, I doubt the GOP would use this line of attack, considering their own primary struggles.

Democrats are usually averse to heir-apparents, aren't they? I mean, don't they hate even the concept of silver spooners?

I think I posted the entire thing too quickly. I don't think you are a conservative (don't know you very well, but I didn't think so). I don't think BSH is "establishment" even though I can't see that as an insult in any way.

What I was saying is, I was typing that, you cross-posted almost the exact sentiment. Point is, yea they would use that in a general election. The republicans are on fire to not have an "establishment" anything. Pointing to the fact that the president himself picked her even before the first primary votes were cast is one he11 of an attack.

in all seriousness though until I see Obama hyping up Hillary at a rally I dont consider it an endorsement, and a lot of people wont notice he endorsed Hillary until he does either.....

Im sorta more interested in who Biden endorses because Hillary was part of Obama's cabinet for four years, so it would sorta make sense Obama would endorse her, but Biden doesnt have that kinda work-relationship with Hillary and is more of a wild card
