At least someone is paying attention to the pandering going on in this race and realizes just how foolish it is to fall for it.

I dislike this immensely. Christians everywhere (this site too) will say "he is not a true Christian" to any Christian caught doing something wrong, yet will hand out the term to anyone who just says "I'm the real deal".

Trump knows less about the bible than an atheists child, yet the Evangelicals love him.

Case in point. Religion should not, IMO, mix with politics. They are not good bedfellows in any way.

Couldn't agree more, but it is the ONLY year-stick that counts for some. It is so important, yet saying "Two Corinthians" and having the most checkered past with fidelity gets a pass? Its hypocrisy of the highest order.

I f*cking hate it when candidates use religion to appeal to idiots, its secretly my biggest objection with Hillary actually after she pulled this: http://gawker.com...

Yea, I dislike it in our own even more. I'm sure you have caught wind of the current "Sanders is an atheists" flap, right?

The only president with no stated religious affiliation was Lincoln.

It's not so much "I'm such a religious guy" as it is "I'll be looking out for your interests". I mean, come on: after having a president who openly said "they cling to their religion and their guns", Evangelicals appear to only trust a candidate who is seemingly one of them because they feel such a candidate as president at the very least won't screw them over.

And to be fair, Dems engage in some pretty dirty pandering tactics as well. The methods that they use to appeal to women and all minorities is to use the media to paint the GOP as sexist and racist far, far beyond how sexist and racist they may actually be so that the natural alternative is, of course, the democratic party. In this way the GOP candidate is always accused of some sort of bigotry while the Democrat candidate is exempt from all such accusations. If the media talked about blacks or women the way that they talked about Republicans, there'd be a massive public outrage.
Beyond this they also promise to give unfair special treatment to these minorities, programs often involving stealing from somebody else, to secure their votes.

You ever think that you're only playing into the left's hand when right wing people like you try to paint programs meant to help minorities as 'stealing from white people'?

"Stealing from white people"
