I know this is for non-US, but it does kinda of catch me (I wouldn't say "piss off" though).

Yeah. It does not upset me, but it does make me think twice about their education. I think it is a crazy statement.

Not really. The news I listen to (youth community radio) just refers to him as "President Obama"
"Caitlyn Jenner is an incredibly brave and stunningly beautiful woman."

Not particularly, but I haven't really heard that.

Oh, they say it all the time of the president, mostly when he is visiting other nations. Though it may just be American news, so only Americans hear it.

I don't recall hearing that, but it would annoy me. It seems to be implying that Americans think they're better than everybody else.

I hear it all the time and it pisses me off. Mostly because even my geography teacher (who was mostly cool) used it to teach ignorance and hate towards other countries saying things like "If America wasn't the best place in the world why is the president called 'Leader of the free world'? Why do thousands of people risk their life to come here?" etc.
That mentality makes americans think that America is better than other places and that Americans are better than others.

It seems to be implying that Americans think they're better than everybody else.

Oh yes, they do -_- especially ones that say that...

The "leader of the free world" statement is just for domestic US consumption, it is not intended to belittle other nations, so it is not really offensive.

It certainly does, especially in the case of the present encumbering and especially as so much of US hegemony works against people being free.

No, it implies America has the biggest military power of the countries that are relatively free.
