Alex Conat, Rubio's stooge, is now trying to spin last night on CNN to be a real disaster for Trump. The Rubio campaign has even come up with a new word for Trump: "con man."

This is pathetic, on the level that not even Jeb Bush could achieve, because Rubio advanced nothing substantive at all. He looked like a spoiled, petulant child who is used to having his parents do everything for him from cook his meals to wiping his @ss.

Except it's not Rubio's parents that do that.... it's the lobbyists and political donors who fund Rubio's lavish lifestyle, namely, with money made from for-profit prisons incarcerating blacks and latinos en masse.

Post debate polls show that it was most definitely not a disaster for Trump.

All this attacking did was expose the vast difference between Trump and the establishment for any of the remaining undecided/uninformed voters.

Attacking Trump for being a capitalist is a sure fire way to lose the GOP primary. WTG Rubes.

I agree. Despite the fact that virtually all pundits on earth are saying that Rubio really had a good night, his polls have not really improved and in reality I expect that they will drop.

Rubio looked horrible. He looked exactly like what Trump is portraying him as.

Meanwhile, Rubio fans are running around like this is some monumental victory over Trump. Not sure if depressing or hilarious

I think Rubio did well in he debate last night.

The problem is, while doing well may have been enough in October it is far too late for that. He landed some solid punches, but he needed a knock out. More importantly, he took some hits too--it's not like he just demolished Trump. Who actually won isn't clear at all.

Still, the debate got Rubio some good press and I think that's fair. Unfortunately for him, Trump realized this which is why he rolled out the Christie endorsement today. Whoops...there goes Rubios news cycle

His premises for attack were solid, but Trump either stumped him or he didn't follow through enough for it to count.

Still, the debate got Rubio some good press and I think that's fair. Unfortunately for him, Trump realized this which is why he rolled out the Christie endorsement today. Whoops...there goes Rubios news cycle

While the pundits may not have said anything, people were watching and they took note of utterly insane positions Rubio and Cruz took to oppose Trump - like their ones on healthcare.

He still has the Carson bullet cocked and loaded, ready to fire in case of dire emergency.

You can't be the best in a debate when you don't accomplish what you need to.

What he needs to do is impossible to be accomplished from one debate. So, yes, yes you can. All Trump has to do is hold on. Doing that doesn't make him the best. Rubio got in the most substantive answers and the most solid attacks.

It needed to be accomplished in one debate, or else he risks winning less states than Kasich. There's a reason I have him a D-.

He was on the attack all debate, too. That seems good if you don't completely turn off some of the base (compassionate conservatives) with answers while flailing to attack Trump. He got hundreds of weak slaps at him - but he never got the uppercut to the jaw.

Also, I don't think he was the most substantive. I think Kasich did better on most domestic issues, Trump on foreign policy, Carson and Kasich on healthcare...he was at best second on the vast majority of issues.

It's literally impossible. Trump could wear a Communist flag to the debates, and Rubio couldn't close the gap. Not in one debate. So I don't hold him to that standard. All he needed to do was damage Trump, and he did. He caused the most damage out of everyone on that stage. It just wasn't enough.

He landed the most attacks though, which is why he did the best (like I said, aside from Kasich).

I wouldn't vote Rubio (or any republican for that matter), but credit where credit is due, he destroyed Trump during the debate oratorically and brought up a lot of uncomfortable truths about Trump. He also seems to be the only candidate who figured out Trump's "game" of interrupting people and talking over them. He timed his attacks well taking advantage of the times when Trump put his hand up or stumbled on his words.

I need to find some members of the Republican establishment to make some money on... lol. If they'll throw $157,000,000.00 on Bush's doomed campaign, surely there's some left for wagers.

When you have a bunch of democrats and independents talking about how he did well, it might be time to pay attention to what he's saying and consider his crossover appeal.

Imagine if Rubio was 3-1 in the early states, had a massive nationwide lead, and had monster crossover appeal...the race would've been called.
