What if Trumpster is lying about his net worth? He claims that he "can't release his tax return because he has been audited every year for the past 12 years"

What If Trump Doesn"t Have Billions?

Why would Mitt Romney go on national television and declare, "I think we have good reason to believe that there"s a bombshell in Donald Trump"s taxes. Either he"s not anywhere near as wealthy as he says he is, or he hasn"t been paying the kind of taxes we would expect him to pay"? Since when does buttoned-down, white-bread Mitt Romney make audacious, provocative accusations? Romney"s accusation might be a safe bet " if not to be verified, then to never be refuted. Just a few years ago, Trump refused to release un-redacted tax returns, even when it could help him win a $5 billion libel lawsuit against a New York Times reporter and author. If Trump was unwilling to release his returns in that circumstance, how likely is it that Trump will release them before Election Day? (http://www.nationalreview.com...)

"In October 2005, O"Brien, then a business reporter for the New York Times, published a book about Donald Trump, TrumpNation: The Art of Being the Donald.
< snip>
Trump, meanwhile, notoriously unreliable in his own estimates, offered figures ranging from $1.7 billion to $9.5 billion. In TrumpNation, O"Brien cited those numbers, alongside "three people with direct knowledge of Donald"s finances" who estimated his wealth was "somewhere between $150 million and $250 million." Trump denied it, in his usual colorful fashion: "You can go ahead and speak to guys who have four-hundred-pound wives at home who are jealous of me, but the guys who really know me know I"m a great builder." Despite his having included all of this information, including Trump"s denial, Trump accused O"Brien of cherry-picking his information to hurt Trump"s reputation. He sued him for $5 billion in damages."

Does anybody think the National Review is simply one more fragment of the GOP 'foundation'? Obviously it is and it is clever for those of us on the outside to watch this round terminating squad.

Yea, his history is to inflate his net worth. It is insanely high, it can only be his insecurity that pushes him to make the outlandish claims of worth past what he has. The Forbes number is like 4 billion right now. That might be high, a little low, or right on. Problem for Trump is, he has been inflating it so much over the years that he is trapped in his own insecure lie.

Would not surprise me in the least. He's definitely not worth 10 billion. Questioning his wealth is one of the things that makes him most upset.

150-250 million? Please. Just one of his residential towers is worth like five times that much, and he owns many. The fact that he's hesitant to release his tax returns is probably just a sign that he wants to hide how little he pays in taxes, or something along those lines.

That's what I'm thinking as well. Well, that and the fact that he's being audited of course.

Since when do tax returns have anything to do with net worth at all? What kind of information is the media expecting to get out his tax forms other than his income, liabilities and deductions for the last few years? You can learn many things about a person by looking at their taxes, but net worth isn't one of them. That's how we know the whole idea that Trump is somehow trying to hide the fact that he isn't as wealthy we think he is by keeping his tax returns private is just another desperate, half-assed attempt to finally Stump the Trump.

Even all the tax experts say he shouldn't release his tax returns if he is being audited. Most of what everyone is saying here is speculation anyways. That is considering what I did read as the rest seems like junk to me. Honestly, I really don't care except for the fact he supposedly is causing quite a few liberals to leave this country voluntarily which would make me very happy. :)

They're owned by his company - a company which he owns. So yes.

Look closer. He does not own much actual real estate in NYC.

The buildings that have his name are a combo of condo, owned by... well the owners, and the banks. He lends his NAME to many projects and is paid for development. His actual footprint on the NYC real estate market is much smaller than you would be lead to believe.

I wasn't aware Buckley was a neocon. He actually was not a fan of either Bush and, unlike Trump, opposed the Iraq war from the start. You must be confusing National Review with the Weekly Standard, but given your general lack of understanding about conservatism, that doesn't surprise me.

So now if we don't like Drumpf we're traitors? Interesting.

No, you can dislike Drumpf without being a neocon

Well, I dislike Drumpf and I'm not a neocon.

I'm talking about Rubio the warmonger and his traitorous ilk you rube

On war, Trump said "I'm the most militaristic person" & "I love war." He didn't know what the nuclear triad was but once he found out, he said the problem is we don't use it enough. In 2011, he supported the invasion of Libya & toppling Gaddafi.

He was an early supporter of the Iraq invasion. He wants to execute Snowden & kill the families of terrorists. He wants to do even worse than waterboarding.

Trump wants China to assassinate "bad dude" Kim Jong Un. This man is not a dove.

I can't believe you call yourself a conservative yet you support a candidate who loves the Obamacare mandate and taxpayer funded universal healthcare.

Trump: "I like the mandate."
