Thomas's interjection recently may be an attempt to assert his ideological views into the discussion of the Court. Previously, he did not need to do that, because Scalia did it for him. Liberals are now starting to take more control of court discussions as well--before Scalia took up much of the airtime, and his death has opened up a window for the left-leaning justices to fill that vacuum. [https://www.washingtonpost.com...]

Polls further show that the GOP's stonewalling on this issue could hurt them in the upcoming election, and may be impacting their popularity right now. [http://www.usnews.com...] If the GOP loses the Senate and fails to capture the Presidency--both real possibilities--they will cede the chance to force Obama to nominate a more moderate justice, and will likely get stuck with someone more to the left.

The facts of the matter indicate to me that the GOP is making a massive error in not confirming an Obama appointee. If the liberals are starting to take over SCOTUS debates right now, it may result in more left-leaning decisions in the time between now and the replacement of Scalia. It is likely hurting the GOP's chances of keeping the Senate and Presidency in 2016, and, if the GOP loses those, it will not even be able to force the appointee to be a moderate. It is a lose-lose-lose for them.

So, I have three questions. First, how do you think Scalia's death is impacting SCOTUS right now? Second, how do you think the GOP's obstructionism on this issue is hurting and will hurt them, if at all? And, third, should the GOP confirm an Obama nominee?

I don't even care if it didn't answer the third question in any way, shape, or form. It's all that needs to be said.

Scalia was murdered. Probably by Obama. I hope the Republicans continue to block this appointment, so whoever murdered him is not rewarded for doing so.

Seriously? No autopsy? Pillow over his face? Sloppy police work?
