Maybe it's just me, but has anyone noticed how every political quiz online is just crap? I always hate answering some of the questions, because I'll look at it, disagree with it, and not be able to say yes or no. If ya know of one, please link me up an accurate one.

online quizzes can only be so detailed. A truly accurate quiz would require essay answers to reveal an in-depth thought of ones political makeup.

Best one I've found is this one

I think I'll take it again and see if/how I've changed over the months.

"If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations."

If you're laisse faire between serving humanity and serving the interests of a corporation. I guess I'll rough through it.

I took this quiz and the results are very enjoyable. Comparing my ideology with historic men/women was really fun. Thanks...

I have never EVER liked the political compass. It lists Obama as right of center (which I think only Marx would make that kind of claim).

This is my personal favorite, since you can put how important each answer is along with your answers.

As a radical leftist I'm probably not the best person to be defending this claim, but Obama is right of center. The entire political spectrum in America is shifted right. Democrats routinely bash social welfare programs such as the new TANF not to mention the whole shifting of AFDC under Clinton to TANF, while the only people that denounce numerous forms of corporate subsidies, excluding the bank bailout (which both parties supported at the time anyway) are well outside the political mainstream. At that point Marxists and libertarians actually agree on something. But yea, the only place there's a center-left anymore is in Europe. America's system and the "permissable parameters of discourse" shifted so far to the right under Reagan that the "left" Democrats are now conservative. That's why it's so funny to see the Democrats try and act like an oppositional party, because they don't have a base anymore. Their base is compromise and taming ideas that originate with conservatives.

That would seem to define nearly the whole spectrum as supportive of the welfare state, and most of the right as merely minimizing. When I think "Center right," I think of someone like askbob-- supports an infrastructure state, and not much welfare other than maybe public education. When I think "Center left" I think Clinton-- supportive of welfare, including AFDC, but tries to keep it from getting too out of control. What the hell is "Center" about cradle-to-grave? There just aren't that many people to be found on the right side of the spectrum at all anywhere, including the United States, economically speaking. "Get your gummint outta my medicare" doesn't count.
It came to be at its height. It was commanded to command. It was a capital before its first stone was laid. It was a monument to the spirit of man.
