An interesting dynamic of the Republican race is how much stronger Trump's support is in the east than in the west. For states that actually held elections (so discounting Colorado, Wyoming, and North Dakota) Trump has won 14 out of 17 contests held East of the Mississippi, but only 6 of the 14 contests West of the Mississippi

In my home state's defense, the last time Perry won he did so with less than 50% of the vote. In other words, a majority of Texans are not idiots :)
