America has been a great country by way of comparison. In the meantime, much of the world has caught up with the concepts which have made America great. America will not continue to be great if:

Its people value war spending over paying its teachers properly.
Its economy continues to be be based largely upon the military and prison industries.
Its people think racism is an issue of the past.
Its people value low taxation over prosperity.
Its people think climate change is a global conspiracy.
Its people think evolution is something only the gullible believe.
Its corporations have more say in its governance than its people.

To quote former President Clinton: "There is nothing wrong with America that can't be fixed by what is right with America."
"You don't have a right to be a jerk."

Nothing in a man's world stays great, especially when he observes his body dying. There have been many great societies in the past that are now long gone.

There's no such thing as the greatest nation. It's a matter of opinion.

It's a matter of whose viewpoint you experience life from. If you listen to other viewpoints, you might be thoroughly deceived. It's better to live according to your own viewpoint even if it confuses you sometimes. I have lived in American most of my life and it has confused me many times depending on where I lived. From my viewpoint today, America is not at all what it used to be for me.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason why?

Maybe decades of importing people from less than great countries and betraying the American ideas wasn't the smashing success liberals thought it would be

I think it has been for a while. What specifics are you getting at? I sense facetiousness.

Each created individual gets so much information to experience life with and that's all an individual will experience with his own senses. The only way that individual can know someone else's experience is if they listen to their stories and BELIEVE. If you believe everyone's stories, you will be thoroughly confused unless you know exactly how you were created. Then you can believe everything you hear from other individuals and yet, still know the truth. This way, you will keep from being confused.
