Generally, one video doesn't change someone's mind on religious or political issues.

Right off the bat he talks about how capitalism isn't doing well, providimg examples of the latest situation in our economies. I guess he hasn't heard of cycles. In every bust in the economy there has always been a rise/boom. Go ahead and just disregard history ok

He is an economist, and if you read his books you would understand that he is explaining how the cycles in capitalism inevitably result in these issues and they only get worse and worse.

But he doesn't explain that in his lecture, and frankly several of his arguments were based on logical fallacies, mocking, and faulty comparisons.

I would suggest you read his book Democracy At Work: A Cure for Capitalism. It's a fascinating read, but you will need a basic understanding of economics to understand much of it.

Stateless socialism is simply impossible! Socialism requires coercion to control those that disagree with the majority. Without state coercion, people will be free not to follow a collective plan, and select their own plan. Markets will spontaneously organize. Then, human nature will lead to private property and free market capitalism is born. Thus, free market capitalism is the only possible outcome in a stateless society.

I really wish you that socialists were working toward a stateless society, I could get onboard. Today's socialists are looking to expand government at every turn.

An example government education, if socialist were really for a stateless society, education would be a great place to demonstrate that desire. Voluntary collectives for education could be formed and show its superiority to free market systems. Instead, socialists are for increasing state power in education.

Richard Wolff is one of the most notably disliked economists in the field. His style of economics is regarded as even more unsatisfactory and foolish as how Keynesians identify the Austrians.

Richard Wolff knows as much about economics as Pepe Le Pew knows about astrophysics. It's all theoretical nonsense.

I don't recommend anyone to watch this video.

Richard Wolff refuses to debate real economists, simply because his ideology doesn't hold up as well against someone who isn't a college student.

Even Keynesians have a firmer grip on the economy than Richard Wolff does. This man has to be the worst economist I've ever listened to or research about.

I looked into the video, skipped around and saw the speaker talking about the economic problems different countries are experiencing. Honestly I can't be bothered to watch another such false argumentation, this is nothing more then arguing on emotion. "Our current economic system has faults, therefore my system is better". The rest of it seemed more like a history lesson then an explanation of an ideology, but then again I didn't watch it, although I would if you showed me how it might be worth me while.

As far as I have understood socialism it's about the workers owning the capital. How is that different to communism where the government holds capital for the workers?

The video explains what socialism really is, thus explaining why it is (the history behind it) is paramount to that. The speaker explains that the difference between communism and socialism is that they both have the same ideal, but they want to achieve it differently. Socialism wants to do it electorally, democratically, make new laws, etc. Communism wants to have a violent revolution to take over the government, abolish it, and insitute a communist government. Many would call Lenin a communist, but the USSR, the government he established was socialist, was socialist: Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
