Americans almost always see their nation as a shining beacon of democracy, liberty, and justice. In the past decades, the United States has used "spreading democracy" as a way of meddling with other nations and justifying war. I argue that democracy cannot function under capitalism; thus, China is the most democratic state.

In the capitalist United States where any corporation can lobby politicians to do anything, democracy does not truly exist. Citizens are ruled under a government that oppresses them, restricts them, and watches over them. Citizens' privacy is invaded by projects like PRISM.

Under a socialist state, corporations cannot pressure the government to do anything because corporations have fewer powers. Thus, China is as democratic as ever. Only in China do the people have true democracy and liberty.

Only in China do we have no freedom of speech but still people who say it's a place of democracy and liberty...

Ok, I thin, you're definition of democracy is pretty narrow; and not to mention that you're understanding of the Chinese economy is skewed.

First, it is the case that in the US big money influences the political process, but this is not the case in some other capitalist countries. Also, democracy doesn't just refer to how powerful a corporation is. In the US if you have been abused by your employer, you can filed a complaint against them and seek recompense for their actions; in China, no such service exists - you're out on your own.

Second, in China, businesses absolutely have hold over politicians. Many bribe politicians to get special contracts, deals etc., often paying millions of dollars. The political elite use their power to accumulate wealth for their families. All of this is pretty well-known.

Third, in China, there have been stories where the Government bulldozes apartment buildings to make way for construction projects, with no compensation for the residents. They just left out to fend for themselves. You call this democracy?

In the capitalist United States, corporations can lobby the government to fulfill their own goals. This goes against democracy, but it is better than the alternatives like bribery in places like China because bribery takes place behind doors and cannot be seen by voters. Due to corruption, the Chinese government has covered up numerous food safety scandals. In China, citizens are ruled under a government that oppresses them, restricts them, and watches over them. Citizens' privacy is invaded.

Under the supposedly socialist state that is actually capitalist, corporations can pressure the government to do anything, just behind closed doors. Thus, China is as undemocratic as ever. In China, the people have no true democracy and liberty.

Why did you attack me? I was trying to show that the fifty cent party's propaganda was wrong. Read my post. I was talking about how China's system is flawed and the American system is superior. Are you a fifty cent party member?
