As some of you know, when I started expressing my views on who I believed should be president, I spoke very highly of both Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. These candidates are presumed to be polar opposites, but on things like isidewith for me it was 89% Sanders and 82% Trump. However, most recently with our God-Emperor's sweeping victory, in his speech he spoke very highly of Sanders. http://www.wired.com... http://www.politico.com... http://nymag.com...

"Donald Trump left the Time 100 gala to make a buoyant victory speech Tuesday night after sweeping all five primary states across the Northeast. In a surprising show of good spirits, Trump thanked his archenemy, the media, saying they have been "very fair the past two hours."

Trump also took a swing at the Democratic Party " on behalf of Bernie Sanders. Trump slammed the system for treating Sanders "unfairly" and, despite some boos, he urged the senator to run as an independent." He also added that Sanders gave him "good material" to use on Clinton and even quoted him during his victory speech.

So, is it possible that my dream will come true and Trump chooses Bernie as his VP?

The answer to that question lies in the answer to this question.
- Are Bernie supporters more likely to vote for Trump, Hillary, or abstain?
- How many Bernie supporters would be likely to vote for Trump if Bernie was his running mate?

I think Trump was just wishfully thinking. If Bernie ran as independent it would be a shoe in for Trump. I noticed that Christie was behind him again at NY. I would say he may be in consideration.

Christie is likely going to be the Trump VP.

Of course Trump wants Sanders to run as an independent. That would split the Democrats.

For someone interested in/studying political science, I'm surprised you'd even hold such an idealistic dream. Obviously that will *never* happen.

If we look at the situation realistically, we can see that he's merely attempting to attract Bernie supporters now knowing that Bernie has no shot. He's smart enough to recognize that some of Bernie's supporters are supporters for the sake of him being anti-establishment, a position that Trump also finds himself in. Alot of them just refuse to vote for Hillary, so he's trying to pick those people up.

These articles and statements from Trump are nothing more than him pandering to Bernie's supporters in the hopes of bringing them to his side for the general election.

In regards to him saying that Bernie should run independently, that comment alone should have woken you up from your "dream", but more importantly, it'd be better serving to Trump if Bernie did that because it'd then split the democratic party, thus ensuring Trump the White house due to the split votes coming from the other side.

No.
This is like the Nazi Party forming a Coalition with the Communist Party of Germany.
I know the Weimar Republic analogy is extreme exaggeration of both of their views and frankly overused when talking about Sanders and Trump, however, it works very well.

Ideologically, Trump and Sanders do vary. Though one thing they hold in common, is that they are both populist, anti-establishment, and hold a desire for change. Trump and Sanders both essentially mention special interest lobbyists and ways the "system" is "rigged."

Once upon a time, a boy approached a girl wanting to learn more about her personal religion since he himself formulated his own religion over the years. She proceeded to be very rude to the boy, never once even telling him the basic tenets she created, even after the boy tried explaining his own religion to her to see if they had any similarities.

Since then, both the boy and girl have become moderators, and the dance continues.

The moral of the story: Two out of the four moderators on DDO have created their own religions.

No, not really. Since then I've read your AMA where you go more in-depth about your religion. We certainly agree on more things than I expected and even have the same hopes for the future universe, but they'd ultimately be incompatible or similar enough for my liking. Your communist undertone in the political aspect of it doesn't jive with my own political views, nor am I nearly as authoritarian.

I was actually just curious if you even remembered that incident, so I brought it up in the hopes of your response answering my question. It did.

Wait, really?

Yeah, but I'm not opening it up for followers just yet. Like Christ, I'm waiting until I'm 30 to break into the religion game.

Jeez, I know it won't actually happen.

Lol. For once, Peters was having fun. Good way to ruin it. xD

You're still bitter about that?

No, not really. Since then I've read your AMA where you go more in-depth about your religion. We certainly agree on more things than I expected and even have the same hopes for the future universe, but they'd ultimately be incompatible or similar enough for my liking. Your communist undertone in the political aspect of it doesn't jive with my own political views, nor am I nearly as authoritarian.

I was actually just curious if you even remembered that incident, so I brought it up in the hopes of your response answering my question. It did.

Wait, when did I discuss this? I despise communism.

The conversation between you and cermank lasted several pages, and you revealed enough of it for me to recognize similarities and incompatible differences between yours and mine.

My own religion has evolved in the last year or two, so it's understandable if yours isn't as necessarily communist or authoritarian as it was when you were having that conversation.

Well, according to that AMA it lasted for a little more than a page and I said a small paragraph on my religion probably at most. Honestly at this point I think everything there can be disregarded, especially the communist parts.

Jeez, I know it won't actually happen.

Lol. For once, Peters was having fun. Good way to ruin it. xD

I'd hope so...

http://www.debate.org...

That was a long time ago.

Has your religion changed that much since?

It really wasn't very formulated and organized back then. I don't even remember what I said about it. It can't be much considering I've been very careful not to say anything about it.

Your "small paragraph" revealed that you consider non-theistic religious followers to be heathens, that we must have an open mind, risk our life for it, kill others from other religions, there are no virtues or sins, the universe is not meaningless, we must seek to restore order, gain a deeper connection with god(s)(?), spread throughout the world and universe, and that it ultimately supports your political system where all people are considered equal.

At that point, Cermank started trolling you by calling you a communist scum, although her trolling is founded in some reality based on your later descriptions of the social order and corporate policies. Regardless, it was enough for me to see similarities and incompatible aspects, as I've said already. So, getting back to the original point, I'm not sour over your silence on your religion to me privately - mostly because I'm not interested, based on your description of it back then.
