That's pretty much decided for.

The NRA always endorses a right wing candidate, whether it's a Republican or a Libertarian. Hillary will never get an NRA endorsement for presidency, as it's highly unlikely, and Bernie most likely wants guns only because of the Marxist saying that the proletariat must have guns with which they can overthrow the bourgeoisie.

I would've endorsed Trump too if I had any power in the NRA, but this wasn't a shock for me.

Yeah because closing the background check loophole is anti NRA. In the mean time Trump and NRA shrill continue to lie by saying Democrats want to take all guns away.

Democrats are consistently trying to limit gun ownership and the ability to own certain types of ammo. What the hell are you talking about? Are you really going to tell me that Democrats are pro gun ownership?

A discussion about what types of "arms" and ammo is available to citizens as well as who is should be eligible to own them is a very valid. The right to bare arms is restricted. The argument of the nature of those restrictions is valid on both sides.

However it is rare to see Republicans frame the discussionext in a legitimate way, because lie and say that Democrats want to take guns away.

I have yet to see any valid claim that Democrats want to confiscate guns.

The Democrat platform is lessening of gun ownership. There's very few that want to confiscate guns completely, but they surely do believe in a very restricted gun rights ordinance.

Trump lied and said the Clinton wants to abolish the second amendment. If that is not an out right lie then I don't know what a lie is.

I'm rather surprised that the NRA waited this long to endorse Trump. They sort of did it at the last minute.

It's one of the stupidest policies ever pushed by dems. Let's also sue car manufacturers when we get in accidents or sue computer manufacturers when we get hacked. Seriously... so dumb.

That's not even the proper analogy.

They want drunk driver victims to sue the car company for selling cars irresponsibly....

They want hacked victims that surf porn to be able to sue Dell for making a computer that is able to surf the internet as intended....

Guns are made to kill, that is what they do. Sellers have every right to lawfully sell as many guns as possible to anyone that passes a background check. This law is beyond stupid.

It'll be a month or so into the general election, there's already been rumors of him negotiating with "wall deal" in secret interviews

They don't have a right to sell them illegaly such as selling without background checks when required to. Plus it is illegal to sell guns if you know they will be used for illegal purposes, yet another restriction on the 2nd amendment.

Right, but if you read the statements from the author of the bill, he says gun manufacturers should know how to spot straw purchasers. That's totally stupid and beyond the scope of a gun dealer. Even law enforcement can't do that reliably.

I think anybody should be "allowed" to sue anybody for anything, as long as the losing side pays everybody's legal fees.

That would do wonders for deterring frivolous lawsuits.

I don't support most Democrat gun control measures, but I still thought Obama's speech was good.

"We can do more to reduce gun violence" =/= "I support stringent gun control"

The most effective measure we can take to reduce gun violence is enforce already-existent laws against straw-purchases, and reform the criminal justice system to cut down on recidivism rates.

That's an interesting proposal, here's an insight link that gets into that very notion. It seems that's already the case in some instances or states, just not across the board.
