Some people claim that if DDO was "properly" implemented, then life will become a practical utopia of every man caring for his fellow man as they skip around in beautiful gardens and watch the sunset.

However, this doesn't account for the fact that no matter what the structure of DDO society is, human nature remains the same. Those greedy people that can supposedly ruin other sites like the crappy ForandAgainst.com can more easily ruin DDO.

If every person is expected to contribute his "ability," then how does one gauge this "ability"? Some people have a stronger debate ethic than others; does this mean that they have more "ability"? Some people have a tendency to doze off while debating; do they have less "ability"? What is to stop a person from exerting less "ability" than he truly has? And what is to stop a person from keeping some of his debates for himself, before contributing the rest to the community?

If every person is expected to "care," then how does one gauge this "care"? Do those with poor vision "care" since they can't see the site anyways? Do those who have a sweet tooth "care" if there's food around? Does anybody really "care" when there is something interesting on TV? Cars? Horses? Shoes? What is to stop a person from saying he cares more than he actually "cares," claiming that he really does "care" for DDO? And what stops a person from caring more than they ever actually should care, like PoeJoe?

These are the questions I would like DDOians to answer.

It looks like charles started the second DDO meme (following "TheSkeptic, I'm calling you out!"), although I'm the one who laid out its structure, which seems way too popular.

There have been many memes here. You should remember. This is my favorite:

That doesn't count; it's just an adaption of "how do I shot web?", an already popular internet meme.
So you're limiting this to independent memes. The petition meme still occurred before this one. And even without it, disquoting has been around forever.

Ah, somehow I never added "A Petition to..." as a meme. But misquoting isn't a meme.

I think he's referring to the "too blond to figure it out".
