Why is competition evil?

Why does your own success have to depend upon the demise of others?

I don't think my success hinges on the "demise" of others...

The demise of others isn't the necessary result of topping out the competition.

It doesn't, necessarily. Competition can be good as well. Competitors do share customers often.

Demise? People that compete in a free market and lose aren't put to death; they just find other jobs. Competition is good for everyone, even people that lose, because even if your business doesn't succeed, you still get to benefit from the competition that results in lower prices and better quality goods in all of the other industries.
