Dismiss this as any good Trump supporter will, but this is some record breaking sh1t. Obama was widely criticized (even during the primary's by CLINTON) as not qualified, and never came near these sort of numbers.

Article II, Section I: "No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States."

They're technically both 100% qualified.

And any applicant for a job is qualified. Look, when the "Trump is stumped" their will be no person I care to tell "told you so" more than you. That line was childish and warn from the second it was coined, and no other Trump supporter I know of has used it more than you.

Well, no. Not at all. All jobs have certain qualifications. The POTUS only has those qualifications, as it is written in the constitution. The only additions is you just have to be supported by the people to get elected.

But do you not think that there is something wrong with a system in which the only requirement for someone to run a country is that they are a 35 year old citizen of that country who has lived there for at least 14 years?

Right. The PEOPLE decide who is qualified. The PEOPLE in this poll (by a LARGE margin) are saying the guy is not qualified.

If you want Trump to win, you have to overcome these sorts of impressions, simple as that. Just ignoring that such a huge portion of the population of voters think the guy is in over his head should worry you.

Let me make it simple for you. Your reaction is part of the deflection of Trump supporters I am speaking of.

The poll, nor the respondents, were speaking of constitutional qualifications. You pretending that the poll asked the question to test the constitutional question or gauge the knowledge of the population is just stupid - just like every other Trump supporters efforts to deflect when things are clearly going bad for the fool candidate they have pined their hopes on.

Keep it up if you like. No skin off my nose if you head into a general election with your fingers in your ears and hands over your eyes. The sane among us look at this and see what is true. Your guy is heading for a crushing defeat. You can't do anythiing about it if you even refuse to admit the problems exist.

Have fun spouting your childish meme, but when he is "stumped" it is only you who spent your entire election cycle dismissing what was right under your nose.

Ignore this stuff if you like, but if your guy is Trump, these are the things you have to deal with. A HUGE chunk of the population thinks he is utterly incompetent. He and his supporters have to do something to overcome this, or accept the trouncing that is heading his way.

My "reaction" is stating fact. The poll more accrately reflects whether people would trust Trump in office, not whether he is "qualified" or not because clearly he is.

The American populace is politically uninformed. They are voting here based on their "vote preference" (again) and their "anxiety" over whether the candidate can preform well in office, as I said. In fact, I could probably say that "qualifications" here is technically misleading.

Keep it up if you like. No skin off my nose if you head into a general election with your fingers in your ears and hands over your eyes. The sane among us look at this and see what is true. Your guy is heading for a crushing defeat. You can't do anythiing about it if you even refuse to admit the problems exist.

Trump has been doubted ever since he announced he was running. People saw it as a joke. Now he's the Republican nominee. Trump is no where near perfect, but calling me "insane" for believing he has a chance is ludicrous.

Have fun spouting your childish meme, but when he is "stumped" it is only you who spent your entire election cycle dismissing what was right under your nose.

Only me? Seriously? I rarely express my political views and you're assuming I just dismiss everything bad about him.

I agree that he is inexperienced as a politician, we don't need a poll to point this out. Eisenhower wasn't a politician either but he is arguably one of the best presidents we've ever had. Especially in the technocratic times we live in, the president is surrounded by thousands of advisers who help him execute policy, I'm more worried about the presidents ideology and demeanor than his knowledge on issues.

I'm saying that if you're a Trump supporter that doesn't mean you support him with every fiber in your body. It's called voting for people, not parties (depolarization of the American populace). There is a very likely chance you will never vote Republican simply because they have the Republican sticker on them. Even Washington set the tradition of where individuals who had "success" in the private sphere are more considered to hold higher positions for the benefit of the public sphere, where virtues, skills, and accomplishments particularly valued in the private sphere are often used as benchmarks for evaluating candidates' fitness for public service (http://aas.sagepub.com...).

The left is desperately clinging to the notion that it's the party or the personality that controls government, not the people.

At the end of the day, The Republican party has been forced by Trump to change and to actually become more progressive, and accept more people under the banner of 'Americans'; and the old banner of conservatism, already in tatters, will soon be discarded.

Surprisingly, the Democratic party is more than willing to take up that discarded conservative banner, and hang it up high. This is evident with its insistence on the status quo (conservatism)... its sound party rejection of Bernie's populist progressivism...and its adherence to mantras such as "proper qualifications" or some other established elitist filter to counter the belief in democracy of the people, by the people, and for the people.

The younger Democrats know what is going on. They won't tolerate that worn Democrat party conservative establishment banner much longer. They time has come for real change.

I can't wait for Hillary and Trump to debate. While these polls are certainly informative, I predict we'll see some changes in the coming months. Keep in mind that many polls never predicted he'd be the nominee either before the primary debates occurred.

But Trump is the Dajjal, he wasn't born in the US!

Neither was Cruz, but he was still running.

Huh?

Let me make it simple for you. Your reaction is part of the deflection of Trump supporters I am speaking of.

My "reaction" is stating fact. The poll more accrately reflects whether people would trust Trump in office, not whether he is "qualified" or not because clearly he is.

No. Your reaction is obtuse. You know that is not the subject of the poll, or the reaction of the poll respondents. Ignore if you please, but it is a moronic take on a poll question that is as old as the hills.

The American populace is politically uninformed. They are voting here based on their "vote preference" (again) and their "anxiety" over whether the candidate can preform well in office, as I said. In fact, I could probably say that "qualifications" here is technically misleading.

Your assessment of the voting populous, while accurate, does little to change the fact that they vote, and Trump is going to be judged BY them.

The only thing "misleading" is you pretending you are clever in point-out this issue. The poll gauges the voter sentiments - not their understanding of the constitution.

He really has very little chance. The polling on the primary's, contrary to the Trump narrative, were reasonably accurate. He has YET to get to anything representing a majority of his own party's support. The general public thinks he is a buffoon. So... Support him as much as you wish - disregard polls if you wish - don't pretend that he has broad support he simply doesn't.

Have fun spouting your childish meme, but when he is "stumped" it is only you who spent your entire election cycle dismissing what was right under your nose.

Only me? Seriously? I rarely express my political views and you're assuming I just dismiss everything bad about him.

You are the one who makes this statement in every Trump related thread. Adults have given-up on the warn phrase months ago.

I can't wait for Hillary and Trump to debate. While these polls are certainly informative, I predict we'll see some changes in the coming months. Keep in mind that many polls never predicted he'd be the nominee either before the primary debates occurred.

I have yet to find any poll that predicted he would never be the nominee. The polling was not terribly off anywhere, but Trump supporters hide under this narrative often.

Yea, the polls will shift over time. We have a long campaign ahead. Trump, despite the deflection of all the supporters, is doing objectively terribly. No campaign in history has been this underwater, and ignoring that is just being willfully blind.

If being a liar and being owned by lobbyists qualifies you to be president, I agree Clinton is far more qualified.

Ignore this stuff if you like, but if your guy is Trump, these are the things you have to deal with. A HUGE chunk of the population thinks he is utterly incompetent. He and his supporters have to do something to overcome this, or accept the trouncing that is heading his way.

I am not talking about what you want from a president when pointing to these polls, I am showing you where the candidate stands with the electorate. You dismissing his utter lack of credentials or demeanor to be president is not my concern, and it should have nothing to do with reactions from other Trump supporters either. The question right under your nose is, how on earth does Trump move these god-awful numbers? They are just that bad. Disastrously bad. Historic levels of bad. Campaign crushing bad.

Surprisingly, the Democratic party is more than willing to take up that discarded conservative banner, and hang it up high. The younger Democrats know what is going on. They won't tolerate that worn Democrat party conservative establishment banner much longer. They time has come for real change.

The people, in large numbers, are telling you loudly they hate Trump. You simply ignore them, and insert your own bias. Fine by me, but it is a path to loss.
