If this doesn't prove it, I don't know what will other than an investigation - but we all know how Erdogan likes to deal with investigations.

Dunno. It only proves that Erdogan is running amok with the witch hunt. Certainly, he is using the failed coup as an excuse for the purges in the army, judiciary system, schools etc but I need some more convincing evidence that the coup was staged or faked.

Also some journalists here claim it all could be a game and they give as a proof very little time Erdogan needed to compile a list of suspects. On the other hand, I think that most of the arrested people had nothing to do with the coup. The little dictator simply wants to get rid of all his critics.

And what did people expect? It's a f***ing Muslim country after all. I liked most this part of the article:

Obama "strongly condemned" the coup attempt and "expressed his support for Turkish democracy,"

I'm now waiting for Russia and Belarus to be admitted to NATO. Hey, why not? They are "democracies" too. They regularly hold elections.

I don't think any of this can wholly be attributed to Turkey being a Muslim country; for example, former leaders like Ataturk (who came from a Muslim family) founded the modern Republic of Turkey and helped significantly to secularise the nation.

What's presently happening there is a reflection of Erdogan and his own agenda--not really anything else.

All the time your soul is craving and longing for something else. And in vain does the dreamer rummage about in his old dreams, raking them over as though they were a heap of cinders, looking in these cinders for some spark, however tiny, to fan it into a flame so as to warm his chilled blood by it and revive in it all that he held so dear before, all that touched his heart, that made his blood course through his veins, that drew tears from his eyes, and that so splendidly deceived him!

It proves that Erdogan's taking advantage of the situation, but I don't see that it proves that Erdogan created the situation.

He just declared a state of emergency. This is his easiest way to gain dictatorial control.

Erdogan has a considerable number of supporters. Every day, there are rallies where the Turkish people demonstrate their support for the dictator. During one they burned the effigy of Gulen hanged by a noose. Even the introduction of the state of emergency didn't disturb them.

Just give me at least one democratic Muslim country. Perhaps, Islam is incompatible with democracy. Overthrowing or weakening tyrannical regimes, like in Iraq or Syria, only leads to total chaos or even more extremism instead of establishing democracy.

I don't think it was staged in the sense it was fake. People died, like lots of people died. It could have been planned, but my boss was actually in Ankara and was on the phone with me during the shooting. He sent me and his brother videos of the helicopter fire and it was insane. Like seeing bullets rain down and screams, it was pretty terrifying.

Sandy Hook was fake.
