The double standard of media potrayal in regards to the Khan's reflects the polarized nature of how some sacrifices are valued more based on their political allegiance. Note that when the mother of a fallen soldier in Benghazi took the stage, the media reacted quite differently to her speech. WJS author James Taranto notes "Her speech was called a "cynical exploitation of grief"? Or the "unabashed exploitation of private people"s grief" or "the weaponization of grief"? Remember how she "ruined the evening"? How it was, "a spectacle so offensive, it was hard to even comprehend"? How some liberal commentators said, "Mrs. Smith was really most interested in drinking blood rather than healing"? How her speech represented an "early dip into the gutter"? Remember how a GQ writer publicly expressed a desire to beat her to death?" The message this sends is that if you are a grieving parent, your child's sacrifice will only matter if you are aligned with the right party, otherwise you will be attacked mercilessly by the media. I can admit that Trump's reaction to the Khan's speech was out of line, but I doubt my or Trump's detractors will ever admit that the only reason the Khan's sacrifice has been publicized so much is because of pearl clutching by the media that selectively values sacrifice.

It is grating because you know none of these people care even slightly about the troops.

But it doesn't matter--Trump is dropping the ball and letting us all down. He probably wouldn't be getting crushed in the polls if he had spent his time attacking Hillary instead of some random family

Liberals are ant-veterans and anti-cops unless...

The guy was a minority. Then they race to the top of the peak of self righteousness, claiming their goodness and tollerance while hating anything that resembles a white man or woman.

The people will forget in 2 weeks and it will be replaced with the next Clinton scandal. It's likeping pong. It'll be decided by which one has a "scandal" or "mis-step" that is still remembered at voting time. If it wasn't for short memories, Clinton wouldn't have a prayer.

If everything Trump said was in the news he wouldn't have a chance.

The various reactions to what happened in Benghazi was a concentrated effort for revenge. It was designed to highlight and castigate what the "right" felt was deficiencies in Hil's/Obama's operations.

The Khan family directly addressed what a plank of Trump's platform has been regarding those that are Muslim; Trump decided he wanted to impugn the patriotism possible in America's Muslim community.

Donald Trump was handed a political tar-baby, and Trump decided he knows whats best for political tar-babies: smack them.
Here we have an advocate for Islamic arranged marriages demonstrating that children can consent to sex.

Hillary hasn't done that. Ever.
