The ultra-brave ultra-successful Trump is still staling on releasing his tax returns. My bet is he will never release them. He is not going to win, no need to break lie that he is worth about 1/4 of what he says he is.

Every successful businessperson dodges taxes. Why should he?

Not saying he shouldn't. I am saying two things.

1) Trump has lied about his net-worth (his success) for most of his life - this is a big reason for his unwillingness to release tax info.

2) Trump talks up his charitable donations, many people question his honesty on this point.

2) Trump is a coward. He was critical of Romney not releasing information quicker. He rests his case on his "big tough guy" + "successful businessman" rep, yet is too chicken to even show his taxes (a president that has 50+ years in presidential politics).

So... Whatever his tax rate (I am sure it is low - very low) I want to see them for a number of other reasons.

Horsesh1t. He has many years that are NOT under audit. Lets start with a few of those? Further, there is nothing stopping him from releasing taxes under audit - sure as hell not for a straight talker who has nothing to hide, right?

What a joke this has all become. Trump is unwilling to do what every candidate for 50+ years has done, and the best you can do is bring up conspiracy crap. How about you stick somewhere in the realm of the question at hand. Is that possible?

Trump is not going to release them. It will show Trump is worth a lot less than what he says he is worth, will show Trump lied about many charity donations, will show he does not pay much tax at all, and who knows what other contradictions/hypocrisies. A lot of people are saying that Russia funds his businesses, and that is why is becoming cozy with Putin.

Being under audit is no excuse. Warren Buffet who also is under Audit said he will release his Tax Returns if Trump releases his.

No one is saying that he should not dodge taxes, just that he should release his tax returns to be transparent.

Exactly.

Look. He has told us he dodges taxes, so there is no excuse for this to be his worry about releasing the taxes. I say, it is about 80% ego. He is concerned that everyone will know how badly he has lied about his net worth. That hurts him more than loosing the whitehouse.

I don't know when or why Clinton was called "short-circuit", but the guy who is holding onto red states by a point or two sure as he11 is not going to pull out a win.

Yup.

When Trump was roasted by comedy central, his only rule was that people could not make jokes about his net worth not being what he claimed. Everything else was fair game. People could joke that he wanted to have sex with his daughter, but not about his net worth.

Yea, I have no knowledge of that. It seems that we agree that Clinton (aka "Short circuit") is going to walk away with this one.

Much of Trump's business leverage comes from his branding of his net worth. Tax returns for non-producers in our society (career politicians) have a fixed income that is in no way related to their net worth. There is zero financial losses for a career politician and huge financial losses for a businessman.

Another reason why the mission of the IRS needs to be simplified. If the tax code is so convoluted that it takes years to figure out the right amount, then the code is already broken beyond repair (like most children of Washington DC)

If Trump wants to run on the platform that the tax code is all messed up, there's no reason why he shouldn't continue to have the spotlight on his IRS audit. This could be a running gig for years, just like Obama's birth certificate.

He would truly be the inferior politician to Obama were he to release records when withholding them supports his agenda.

nonsense ... withholding his tax returns does not have the effect of highlighting tax reform. He is withholding them because they contain information that will embarrass or perhaps disqualify him for the presidency ... that is the beginning and the end of his reasoning. Stop imagining designs and calculations that aren't there.

That's exactly what Trump and the wingnut whackjobs said for years about Obama. If Trump learned anything about that fiasco, he should know when to hold his cards.

But he is running to be the top dog. He is leaving the businessman behind, right? Or, is this just a little stuff on the side. You know, kicks till he does a post presidency reality TeeVee show,

Broken or not, Trump is running like a child from releasing documentation that will clearly show he is full of sh1t.

Because it has become traditional. I thought that stuff like tradition, transparency, accountability to the electorate and generally not being a hypocritical a$$ were things even Republicans wanted.
