In response to the ever worsening situation in Venezuela, the socialist government has finally decided to act. By imposing fines on bakeries that allow lines to extend past their entrances. The head of the National Superintendency of Fair Prices attempted to convince the media that everything was alright and peachy, and that the breadlines are simply tools to "destabilizing the economy and break morale."

This is an awful idea, period. People wait in giant lines because they're hungry and desperate to get food. This is covering up a problem with another problem.

Venezuela needs to open up its markets and adopt more Capitalism if it doesn't want everybody waiting in giant lines. The nature of Socialism and how it allows for little to no competition will result in demand exceeding supply.

It would seem that, indeed, the people of Venezuela, too, are waging economic warfare on Venezuela with their standing in long lines waiting for food. How dare these people. Don't they know that their fellow comrades do not like to see long lines for food?
