Topic.. Who do you want answering the phone at 3:00 AM in the morning at the White House
The American people are in the process of electing a president who will serve the American people for the next four years and we are being asked to select the best person for that position. We see the faces and voices of the two candidates for president incessantly splashed on our T.V. screens and on the news from morning to night touting what they would do if they were elected president. The voters hear through the media ads how each one running for the office of president would be best qualified to take on the responsibilities of that office. One of the candidates , Donald trump, is a business man who has been quite successful. The other candidate is Hillary Clinton who has been in Washington and also has a record, first as the first lady and then as a senator from New York and finally as Secretary of State. In all of Hillary Clinton's different positions there have been odious results resulting from the poor way in which she has handled positions of authority. When Hillary Clinton was the first Lady she promoted Universal health care and failed in her drive to get it passed.
When Hillary Clinton Ran for the office of the presidency against a little known Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, she failed to convience the American voters that she was competent and had the ability to handle the duties of the president and as a results lost the race to him.
When Hillary Clinton was appointed by Barack Obama to be Secretary of State, her term in that position was defined by one debacle after another.
One of the episodes among others( that definded her competence and level of maturity needed to be the Secretary of state was her displaying a small box with a reset button on it when talking with Russia's Putin which demonstrated her native, child-like, approach to dealing with Russia.
Then to cap all of the debacles which defined Hillary Clinton's time in office was the shameful abandonment of "four Americans " Ambassador Christopher Stevens, State Department information management officer Sean Smith, and CIA contractors Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty " in "the diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya" When those four Americans called out to Hillary Clinton for help, no one answered the phone, no one answered their call and they were left to their fate.
If Hillary Clinton is elected and placed in the White House as Commander in chief, the old question one asked, "Who do you want answering the phone at 3:00 AM in the morning at the White House seems to have been answered, Not Hillary Clinton, not Hillary.

Definitely Trump. Not only will he be awake at 3 a.m., he won't dismiss requests for help, or tolerate incompetent underlings in important positions.

Hillary has already proven that she regards holding a powerful position in government as nothing but opportunity to line her pockets. Her requirements when hiring her assistants, isn't competency, it's corruptability.

You know, as in this thread, people are always referring to candidates and their underlings. Yet no one is really happy. So what makes these people 'qualified'? Are they smarter than you or I? Has their life experience gave them more wisdom?

One has made a ton of loot (and used financial bailouts to his advantage)
One has done... something in gov (not really sure anything positive) and made a ton of loot. And used high priced lawyers on the gov dime to her advantage.

Etiquette and decorum aren't difficult concepts. So what keeps the layperson from running (I contendany of us would actually be better). Easy: name recognition and political money.

One has done... something in gov (not really sure anything positive) and made a ton of loot. And used high priced lawyers on the gov dime to her advantage.

Etiquette and decorum aren't difficult concepts. So what keeps the layperson from running (I contendany of us would actually be better). Easy: name recognition and political money.

yeah it's about money, they make a fake personality etc and sell it on tv, and many buy it, i've said for a very long time, there should be a max dollar limit for all this b.s. very strict controls, that's the only way a 3rd party would ever have a chance.

And to get a representative base. Our system wasn't set up to be a career. Yet that's what we've turned it into and why all we get our retreads.

One of our forefathers had the great wisdom to recognize what would be the Inevitable results of allowing our representatives to make a career of public office. Benjamin Franklin said this while at the constitutional convention in 1787
".....And of what kind are the men that will strive for this profitable pre- eminence, through all the bustle of cabal, the heat of contention, the infinite mutual abuse of parties, tearing to pieces the best of characters? It will not be the wise and moderate; the lovers of peace and good order, the men fittest for the trust. It will be the bold and the violent, the men of strong passions and indefatigable activity in their selfish pursuits. These will thrust themselves into your Government and be your rulers...."
Isn't this what is wrong with our government, that our government is a stealth government ran by politicians who believe that government is a personal money-making enterprise and its none of the peoples business how its conducted.

Pretty much. The constituencies increasing laziness over the last century and a half, the states continual acquiescence of power to the federal government resultant = what we have today. Almost no ability for the layperson to perform a civic duty of representing state or federal office.

Clinton. The sane one.

Observe her in this video and give us a full report.

Definitely Trump. Not only will he be awake at 3 a.m., he won't dismiss requests for help, or tolerate incompetent underlings in important positions.

Dear Leader Trump does not even need to sleep!

Why do we even need a white house phone? Can we not just tweet insults at our enemies?

Yeah, there's a lot of rooms they didn't rent out, and I'm sure she's been kicking herself ever since.
