This is very sad. Yes, these comments were 11 years ago. But the fact that he feels that his star status gives him a free pass to grope women is despicable.

Desperate journalism is desperate.

Meanwhile, in reality, Clinton has a 97% probability of winning the election (http://election.princeton.edu...). The question now is whether the Democrats will retake the Senate as well. It comes down to Toomey in Pennsylvania and Ayotte in New Hampshire.

He doesn't feel his star status gives him a free pass to grope women. There is no evidence this guy has ever ACTED badly towards women. So can we get real here?

To me, the worst of it is that it's kind of juvenile. But as far as being abnormal talk for your average guy with a full set of gonads, sorry, but it's just not. I don't approve myself, don't get me wrong, but I've a heard a whole lot worse than that in various places. And from women too, btw.

For the nation that re-elected Bill Clinton, full knowing that he was an ACTING sexual predator, to now want to act all holier than thou? I'm not buying it. Too hypocritical for my tastes.

Vote for the party/platform, not the person. Regardless of how you view either candidate, they'll be the ones appointed executive leaders and our final Supreme Court justice.

Seriously? Where on earth do you hang out that you have heard worse?

I am a man (with a full set of gonads) and have never talked like he does. This narrative sucks. The reality is, men do not, by and large, talk anything like this.

It's not desperate.

And? Just because that is where the predictions lie does not mean that is what will happen. You can't discredit the journalism just because you think you know who will win.

The question now is whether the Democrats will retake the Senate as well. It comes down to Toomey in Pennsylvania and Ayotte in New Hampshire.

Agreed. Kander has a fairly good chance of winning in Missouri as well.

For the nation that re-elected Bill Clinton, full knowing that he was an ACTING sexual predator, to now want to act all holier than thou? I'm not buying it. Too hypocritical for my tastes.

From transcript:
Trump: "I"ve gotta use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her. You know I"m automatically attracted to beautiful " I just start kissing them. It"s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don"t even wait. And when you"re a star they let you do it. You can do anything."

Unknown, but apparently Bush: "Whatever you want."
Trump: "Grab them by the p---y. You can do anything."

Pretty straight forward from my point of view. This kind of male bravado is fairly common place unfortunately; for the most part just lude talk, but the star status comment is my kicker of his sense of entitlment to do as he pleases.

Another: Regarding Miss America Pagents

"I"ll tell you the funniest is that I"ll go backstage before a show and everyone"s getting dressed," Trump told Stern in recordings released Saturday by CNN. "No men are anywhere, and I"m allowed to go in, because I"m the owner of the pageant and therefore I"m inspecting it". "Is everyone OK"? You know, they"re standing there with no clothes. "Is everybody OK?" And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that. The former Miss New Hampshire told BuzzFeed News last spring that Donald Trump strolled through the dressing rooms backstage at the 2000 Miss USA pageant and stared at the naked contestants.

That's exactly what he said on the tape, when he thought no one else was listening. And he cheated on wives 1 and 2 with wives 2 and 3. I'm not sure why you don't consider infidelity to be acting badly. Also, implicit in your statement is the idea that the sentiment he expressed isn't harmful in and of itself.

To me, the worst of it is that it's kind of juvenile. But as far as being abnormal talk for your average guy with a full set of gonads, sorry, but it's just not. I don't approve myself, don't get me wrong, but I've a heard a whole lot worse than that in various places. And from women too, btw.

People who brag about sexually assaulting others are despicable individuals. Even in high school, the only guys I knew who talked like this were also known to be abusive to women. Minimizing what he said as just boys-will-be-boys type of talk contributes to the degradation of women in society.

For the nation that re-elected Bill Clinton, full knowing that he was an ACTING sexual predator, to now want to act all holier than thou? I'm not buying it. Too hypocritical for my tastes.

You know that about half of the electorate wasn't old enough to vote for Bill Clinton in 1996, right?

Came out this morning and is worth the read on how the media has scared us in believing Trump even has a chance to win. As I have stated before in another thread, the electoral college will never let him win.

The list of Republican women who have come out against him is much longer than any list of women who support him.

Women knew he was an a$$ from day one. The latest tapes hurt, and I am glad for that, but its not the only thing women were running from.

Vote for the party/platform, not the person. Regardless of how you view either candidate, they'll be the ones appointed executive leaders and our final Supreme Court justice.

Yet at the same time, despite the fact that Trump promised to elect conservative judges to SCOTUS, he would be unable to because Trump doesn't care that his actions might lead to the loss of Republican control over the Senate.

The sad reality

In which case it would be favorable to have someone in the White House who would veto idiotic proposals that squeaked by Congress, assuming we lose the majority. In the off chance we don't lose the majority, we want a president who would get things done with congressional backing. We've basically had 8 years of a stalemate, we don't need 4 more.

Yeah, you ever listen to Howard Stern's radio show? Ever watch mainstream TV? I'm just saying, guys, this whole faux outrage, it's pretty bogus. Like I say, that ship already sailed - America is a sex obsessed nation. I don't like it, not one bit, but pretending that this matters all of a sudden is completely hypocritical.

More bogosity. Republican actions will lead to loss of control of the Senate. Republican [in]actions led to Trump. If the GOP can't find the intelligence and integrity to stand for something - not just with words but with effective action, like in Newt's time, for instance - then there really is no reason to have a 2nd party in America. We have Trump because we don't have a useful GOP, and they bloody well better figure out how to fight if they want to stay relevant.

Seriously? Where on earth do you hang out that you have heard worse?

I am a man (with a full set of gonads) and have never talked like he does. This narrative sucks. The reality is, men do not, by and large, talk anything like this.

Yeah, they do. And of course you know they do. All of a sudden the country that kills thousands of unborn children is getting sexually pure? I don't think so, Tim.

My name is not Tim, and I don't know anyone who talks about women like Trump does. Both of those facts make me very happy.

Thoughts?

At this point. I'm only voting for Trump to show my disapproval for Clinton. Even that logic hangs by a thread to the point where I'm considering not voting at all.

We're likely to lose it anyways.

If Reps. don't loose the majority and Hilliary's in office, we'll get another 4 years of nothing. They pledged not to participate in any kind of bi-partisan relationship with Obama; they'll do the same with Hillary.

Or maybe it's just a statement of fact.

Yeah, you ever listen to Howard Stern's radio show? Ever watch mainstream TV? I'm just saying, guys, this whole faux outrage, it's pretty bogus. Like I say, that ship already sailed - America is a sex obsessed nation. I don't like it, not one bit, but pretending that this matters all of a sudden is completely hypocritical.

selective moral outrage is all, talentless skankes on stage and tv are now role models, actions speak louder than words - I'm Bill Clinton and I don't approve of that message!

Don't mind Venny, he took the brown acid and never really recovered. Reality isn't his strong point.

I, like you, have only ever heard such talk from the most deeply unpleasant individuals. Anyone who thinks otherwise is suffering from the perspective problems of being one of those individuals themselves.

And because of this we cannot hold a candidate for POTUS to a higher standard? He's a spoiled rich boy who thinks he can do no wrong with women, race bait and perpetuate fear mongering. He is the worst kind of candidate, even worse than Shillary. Yes, I have watched Howard Stern, don't find him or his guest amusing, low brow humor. If we as a country have come to feel that his type of behavior is acceptable we have sunk to new lows.

"I don't think so Tim" is an allusion to the erstwhile TV show "Home Improvement".

And you don't get out much. As a contract engineer I interact with a lot of different companies. Lewd talk is far from rare, and like I say, there's a lot of lewd and horny women out there too. And you've seen the scandals, from Bill Clinton to Tiger Woods and other athletes, to celebrities, etc. etc. No, I'm not going to let you get away with playing the saint when you support the party that works hardest to keep all forms of sexuality legal and without consequence. As I referred to before, abortion would not be the #1 right that democrats fight for if people weren't f'ing like rabbits in America.

How are you going to do that? That's just a slogan, it has no practical implementation.

He's a spoiled rich boy who thinks he can do no wrong with women,

He's not a spoiled rich boy. Arggghhh, why is the simple truth so hard to speak? He's worked hard and smart and maybe mercilessly, but he's not some trust fund loser. And he's got a morality problem. Look, bottom line, I'm just frustrated at how easily Americans are manipulated by the press.

race bait and perpetuate fear mongering.

Nonsense. He treats all races equally, and there are things to be afraid of.

If we as a country have come to feel that his type of behavior is acceptable we have sunk to new lows.

Yes, we have. But we didn't suddenly sink to these lows with the release of a Trump tape.

I, and my society, has no concern about how you engage in consensual sex. Looping abortion into this discussion is pure deflection, but I also have no issue with abortion.
