RCP recently changed the rating of Texas from "leans GOP" to "tossup". The last three polls have been Trump +3, Trump +4, and Trump +3.

Also, in Utah, using just the last three polls would indicate that Evan McMullin may be leading the state - those polls being Trump +1, McMullin +4, and Trump +1.

I didn't expect to see Texas make this move for a while, but if RCP is right, then this is the end of the GOP as we know it...

Right? Yea, Texas has been getting better, but this is crazy. Even if she loses Tx, if its within a couple digits it spells disaster for the GOP.

Trump single-handedly accelerated the GOP's demise by corralling the retarded minority of the party into pushing him through the primaries...... The GOP before would have lasted at least another 40 years despite demographic shifts in favor of Dems, but Trump has cut that time frame in half by going out of his way to piss off literally as many people as possible......

I think saying that the GOP would have lasted another 40 years is a bit of a reach. Maybe 20, at most. Ten is more reasonable.

Is a poll going to change a vote? The horses are 159 yards from the finish. The horse face is ahead of the horses aZZ by 4 lengths. I assume most of you already made your bet.

I just don't get the fascination with polls

Thats assuming that Dems dont do something stupid or manage to not play their cards right, which does happen every now and then..... Though not on the scale of the f*ckup the GOP has on their hands right now.

Texas will stay red. This year. With a state that big a few percentage points can mean hundreds of thousands of votes. So I don't think it's as close in total vote count as percentage points have it appear.

But the growing population of workers migrating from other states could result in Texas moving into swing state range for future elections.

And I remember at the beginning of the election Trump said he wanted to run adds in California...haha. I would love if Texas goes blue. That would make Trump look like even a bigger "loser" than he is. Losing an election to Clinton is embarrassing, never-mind losing Texas to her.

Trump deserves to lose and will lose. All the fake libertarians & conservatives will eat crow whether he wins or loses. Trump promised in a live debate to enact nationwide stop & frisk to take away our guns.

Yup. All the young minority voters will forever hate the GOP now. The GOP had a chance at winning over many Latinos with conservative views if they were just reasonable. However, they will now be branded as the "crazy racist" party. All the people Trump pissed off will vote Democrat and it will be harder to switch them back. Good job at destroying your party Trump! That is the kind of leadership we need!

The GOP did a hell of a good job with state and local races. They have been good at funding and running these races. Now, on a national level, they are sucking wind.

I'd be so proud of my native state if it rejected Trump. It's been solidly red for a really long while but the demographics are changing. The fact that the race is this close right now is just a testament to how pathetically unpopular the orange man is, because most of us don't really like Hillary either.

Im actually hoping he does to just to use him to sh*t on Johnson and Stein. A guy who did literally everything Stein and Johnson didnt do ends up getting more electoral votes than either of them combined over the past two elections..... It would perfectly demonstrate how asinine Stein and Johnson are

George Wallace won a few states in the deep south by campaigning on keeping segregation sometime around the 1960's, but I dont remember off the top of my head which election it was.

He convinced 75% of them that the GOP leaders were nothing but a cartel of empty promises and inaction. You don't need a Trump to do that, just let Jeb! prattle on a bit and then have anyone call him out. The GOP doomed itself long before Trump put his name into the hat. They had their chance for redemption with the tea party, but decided to crush the tea party under the boot. Fatal decision by the party leaders. The GOP was functionally dead long before Trump arrived. Trump simply accelerated the inevitable. Sometimes euthanasia is the answer. The thing is, there still is nothing to fill the void, so when Trump loses, somebody even worse than the teaparty...even worse than Trump...will inevitably rise to fill that void, because the GOP has proven time and again that it simply is unable to.

I am almost giddy at how the map looks for democrats in years to come...

There's alot of established career democrats extremely uneasy at the loss of the traditional political scapegoat. How long can "blame Bush" last? Another 8 years tops maybe?

Gop is dead regardless.

Thanks to Trump & the Alt-Right.

I do thank them. The GOP represents all that is bad with white culture.

The GOP had some issues, but the Tea Party libertarians were reviving the party towards an expanded-base liberty party. Trump has ruined that and convinced 75% of the right to support authoritarianism and has undone ALL of the work that Ron and Rand Paul have done to persuade Republicans towards liberty.

There have been several elections when it seemed like the GOP was about to die, but it never actually happened, and I doubt it will anytime soon.
