As a Florida voter looking over my ballot, I openly admit that I spent much more time pondering over who to vote for senator over who to vote for president (since anyone who knows me knows thats a no-brainer decision. Im with her), and I want to hear what other people think of this matchup

For Rubio:
- He's pretty popular within the state and doesnt make us all look crazy like those 'Florida man' stories you hear
- But, he rode into office on the backs of the Tea Party
- But, the Tea Party dont favor him as much anymore
- He is against abortion even in cases of rape and threats to the life of the mother
- But he's signed legislation allowing abortion in those cases
- But publicly he says he is against it
- He was part of the GOP gang of 8 who pushed for immigration reform
- But he tried to disown it in the presidential race
- But he still was moderate enough to want reform and a path to citizenship in the first place
- He said he didnt want to run for senator
- But, he changed his mind, and its speculated he is setting himself up for a 2020 campaign
- But, thats still just speculation, he may serve a full term this time
- He was in favor of the embargo against Cuba
- But, it ended anyways thanks to Obama, so its no longer an issue
- But, he was still heavily in favor of it in the first place
- He voted against background checks for gun purchases
- But, he also proposed legislation to reform student loans with Democrat Mark Warner
- But, he is against marijuana legalization on the recreational level
- But, he is fine with medical marijuana

For Patrick Murphy:
- Former Republican turned Democrat after Tea Party rhetoric pushed him to the left
- But, he donated the max to Romney in 2012 over Obama
- But, he defeated the notorious tea-party lunatic Allen West and ousted him from the House of Representatives
- Considered a moderate Democrat
- But, voted for Congress to be able to approve Keystone Pipeline over Obama
- But, opposes fracking and actually believes in climate change
- Pro LGBT rights and supports Obamacare
- But, one of few house democrats to support establishing a committee to investigate Bengazi ultimately headed by trey Gowdy

I ended up going back and forth between these two for a while before settling on Murphy by the slimmest of odds

Murphy is the obvious choice. Marco Rubio is a stupid child.

Compared to the stupider children of the GOP though, it isnt entirely out of the question to throw them a bone and support future GOP power players who are slightly less crazy than literally almost everyone else in their party

Rubio is a trash person. He should be replaced. Would rather see Jeb Bush run for senate.
