So? Who would you like to see in the Oval Office in 2012?

I'd like to see Obama be a second termer.

Me, by constitutional convention.
It came to be at its height. It was commanded to command. It was a capital before its first stone was laid. It was a monument to the spirit of man.

Not really. If they're weak enough to forfeit their own political ideology for the satisfaction of another manipulative tool, then that'clearly their problem. If anything, the less people voting the better.

I'd vote for myself, only if I can have a complete dictatorship, so that I had the power to tear down the government and rebuild it the way I see fit.

No one has any issues with that, right?

I'll go with that guy.

I like the fact that he:

1.) Ended the ban on federal funding for stem cell research.
2.) Pushed for a repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell.
3.) Ratified the Start Treaty.
4.) Passed the health care bill which will cover 30 million more Americans than are currently being covered. I will also be able to stay on my parent's health plan for another 6 years until I'm 26.
5.) Will end major combat operations in Afghanistan by 2014.
6.) Has already begun ending major combat operations in Iraq.
7.) Helped limit defense spending.
8.) Actually reads books and can speak incredibly well, unlike our last president.
9.) Appointed two progressive judges to the Supreme Court.
10.) Expanded SCHIP to cover more children with health care.

etc. I could keep going.

Guess who were the two candidates who were in last place on each side of the aisle? Gravel was so unpopular they kicked him out of the debates, and Paul (no matter how much of a stink he makes) is never going to satisfy the conservative crowd and capture a nomination over people like Romney, Huckabee, and Palin who represent right-wing thinking. Paul is ironically too good of a candidate to win - too left for the righties and to right for the lefties. Our system is based on competition, not cooperation. No one (save Freedo) seems to have any inkling of how or why this may produce just about all of the problems we spend so much time complaining about and blaming the other side for. Our system is not meant to produce a leader of the caliber of Paul.

Inventing them was fine. Creating a state and mass-producing them is where the problem began.

It certainly seems that way, but he routinely takes leads in straw polls. I think what happens during crunch time is people assume he can't win and don't want to throw away their vote.

Agreed.

Our system is not meant to produce a leader of the caliber of Paul.:

Sadly, agreed.

I think that happens alot....its kinda sad that we can't have a balanced leader because of pettiness from both sides :/
