Pryor is a disgrace to the bench, to all lawyers around the country, and to the legal profession generally. This disgusting (and incompetent) man had no place being nominated to the Eleventh Circuit, and now the--unfathomably stupid--Republicans are tossing him out there as a possible contender to replace Scalia.

This is like some perverse joke, much like Pryor's legal career.

I should note that back in the 1990s Pryor was involved in gay pornography, and there are numerous photographs of him, naked, on the internet, having posed for a gay pornographer.

This is the disgusting piece of homophobic trash that has LITERALLY SAID that states should have the right to imprison gay people.

Seems pretty cringy to me...ewww. But, let's show him a bit of respect as we would hope for ourselves as we process the presented data.

Well, I'm not familiar with this judge, nor his positions and rulings through his career. To be fair, appears as though you're making absolute and demonizing judgments of him based strictly on limited information you just recently got nudged over toward.

I recognize that when you read these headlines and small articles, you're abruptly left in shock and pretty darn angry. That's the exact response I had as well. After letting go of my initial reaction, and taking a fresh look at it, I see a couple possible, realistic understandings here:

1) William Pryor Jr.is homophobic and takes every opportunity he gets as a judge to take jabs at them. Seeing this, Trump identified a solid marketing tactic, and threw William's name out there, simply to get support and show his voters that he isn't selling out.

2) Pryor grew up in a religious environment and was taught how horrible same-sex relations were. Pryor, being a judge who interprets and enforces laws, based strictly on facts and prior precedents, responded in accordance with the laws. This led to his anti-same-sex relations rulings and findings....simply performing his duties as the rules dictate.

3) Here's one I've been milling over in my head and think is MOST right: Pryor either experimented with homosexuality in college, or is still gay or bi. Being raised in the religious south, during a time when homosexuality was viewed as one of the worst crimes possible; his studies during his journey to becoming a judge sent him to studying marriage laws for a bit. All of the anti-gay, anti-sodomy laws and regulations on the books solidified in his mind that homosexuality and sexual relations are wrong. As no laws existed against male-female sexual relations, he interpreted his rulings as such. All the while, thinking about those photos back in college. Trump again, simply sees him as a marketing tactic.

Tried to work through reasonable possibilities and logic there...without letting emotions sabotage it....what do you think about those ideas I put out there?

Misdirection!

Well the problem with google phds is it brings up the most searched, to use the now overused world 'trending', vs more somber/boring/realistic, not surprising.

Also, "PinkNews" is about as respectable a source as Breitbart.
