Summer's here, and along with it brings the ubiquitous movie sequel with it. We are now at the 4th or even 5th "sequel" in some cases.

Is this a recent new trend?

Of course not. This has been going on for thousands of years.

I'm talking, of course, about the omnipotent, omniscient, one God. Look at His works.

The Torah, The Bible, The Koran.

But following a different sensibility than most of us average humans, He saw it fit to release them not when the original was a red hot market-wide bestselling phenomenon, but centuries apart, to different audiences, in different languages!

Talk about taking market risks, and thumbing your nose at conventional wisdom.

But alas, what has happened due to this, is that each "market demographic" claims that the sequel is better than the original, while the original market, of course, claims that the original is the original, and the best of the series, and disowns the sequels further down to it.

Considering that each version is still around, it's hard to come to a conclusion as to which one is the ultimate success story, but there were times when each of them experienced its heyday.

Which one will be the most enduring, or which one will enjoy a remake, is a question for the ages.

But one thing's for sure. Sequels, are neither new, nor man-made!

(For the atheists, even if they were man-made, it still proves that they are nothing new)
You will say that I don't really know you
And it will be true.
