Happiness is a way of mind. It cannot be sold or given to someone who does not
have the understanding of what that is. It has much to do with the soul.
If you do not take care of your soul, then you will find yourself most likely in
an unhappy state. There is much more to discuss here. Let me ask you this though.
What is happiness to you ?

Happiness to me: Happiness is the feeling of experiencing positive energy (love) on an emotional level.

Opinionator. It seems to me that you are in love.
But she is only human which means she is apt to fail you at one point or
another. You may forgive her for her indiscretions.
But you still cannot stop her from thinking about how good it was to make
love to him. Hmmm.

Happiness does not rely on love alone.
This is why so many marriages fail today.
I appreciate your answer though.
Thank you.

I would say that happiness does rely on love, but that all levels of love are not sufficient in creating a sustainable union between two people. In my opinion, a sustainable union can only be created by a high degree of love and acceptance of eachother's true nature. It would seem that people in American culture do not fully understand the true meaning of what a marriage is, or the love that one should possess for another when desiring such a union.

Sustainable union = A high degree of desire, true acceptance, true love, efficient communication, complete honesty, and complete loyalty.

Tiel. Happiness does not rely SOLEY on love. You can obtain happiness
without being with someone in a physical sense.
I think it is about discovering who you are, and how you come in tune with
the Earth. She is love, too. And when you connect with her, she will reward
you in ways you never thought possible.

To say that a religious man is more happier than a non-religious man, is no more to the point, than to say that a drunk man is happier than a sober man.

TKU. You are not that dumb are you.
Studies do show that people of faith, are indeed more happier than those who
are not. It comes from being inspired and knowing that your existence has
meaning and purpose. To have a strong and unyielding conviction of self is
quite rewarding. You should try it sometime. It works. =)

Response to interrogator: I would say that our stance is the same, only that we define love differently. Love comes in many forms. Positive emotional energy is what we as humans define as happiness. All positive emotional energy finds it's creation in love. Therefor all happiness finds it's creation in love. That is my perspective.

Note: Loving mother earth is still love in my book.

Tiel. You are a rare breed my friend. I am so glad that you are not wondering
in a state of confusion like some of your counterparts here today.
You see, they are not enlightened like we are. We can feel the blood that
runs in the EARTH's veins. We can see the silver lining on ever cloud, even
when they sky is gray. Continue to fight the good fight. And always seek
after wisdom and knowledge. She has taught you well my friend.

You see my friend. This man named Tiel is like me. He is the enlightened one.
He understands the true benefits of knowledge and power.
He comes from a far away land. And his words are of truth and conviction.
He is very respected by me. And this is how we in the Brotherhood, respond
to one another. With deep admiration. *
The rewards of knowledge and of self is 'infinite'.

To me, happiness is contentment... I think the lack of problems or the lack of not happiness = happiness for me. The feeling of not having any problems. Unfortunately, I don't believe "true" happiness is really attainable. We always have problems and always have some other goal to fulfill - there's never really one point where you feel like you've reached the end of a certain goal and don't need to find another one. After all, life without any goals (what I contend to be happiness, because the lack of problems = lack of goals to overcome) would be tedious and boring, and we humans couldn't stand it. As such, we create problems for ourselves until the day we die, and if you define happiness as true contentment, it is impossible, in my humble opinion, to obtain.

Happiness comes with knowing.

No it does not.
Knowledge is power; ignorance is bliss.
I don't think most really knowledgeable people are happy. I don't think it's possible to be so knowledgeable about the world and all that occur in it and find happiness. Only if you shut yourself off in a perfect little fantasy land can you at least have a remote chance at attaining a state of happiness.....

Happiness is taken from happenings, so happiness is determined by an event or events in our lives, we have some input in certain areas of our lives which contribute to our state of happiness..

What is happiness to you ?

Depends; a moonlit night.. a summer breeze.. raping a child.. nuking a country.. mainlining heroin..

happiness is fleeting and transitory; joy, peace, wisdom.. they are Eternal and ONLY found in Christ Jesus.

I longer aspire to happiness, why try to be happy in an insane asylum? I want to be FREE: free from fear, free from slavery to sin, from worrying about what others think of me..

I am voting for Innomen because of his intelligence, common sense, humility and the fact that Juggle appears to listen to him. Any other Presidential style would have a large sub-section of the site up in arms. If I was President I would destroy the site though elitism, others would let it run riot. Innomen represents a middle way that works, neither draconian nor anarchic and that is the only way things can work. Plus he does it all without ego trips.
