I looked and I guess he was either hiding or he was my imaginary friend that I grew out of.

I think I remember trying to find him and discovering him in the sky--only to realize that was in my head.:)

I don't believe those terms are synonymous.
I was not implying that they were.

Hmmm...interesting use of logic, I must say. Can you explain?

I took an honest look at myself and my life. Then all I had to do was look around.

I found him absurd.

Then after that, I realized God wasn't a he, and was whispering sweet nothings in my ear.

I made sexy time with God, and now we are best friends.

I had moved to Albuquerque NM. ...was in the process of starting a heavy metal rock band with some friends...living a bad lifestyle...the devil tried to destroy me....I had 3 near death experiences (not the in the hospital kind, but rather guns pulled on me kind). The spiritual veil became very thin at times... there was one time I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it...but God protected me!...thankfully!...I have felt the terrors associated with hell at those times... and I remember them well even to this day!!...my #1 life purpose now is to avoid those feelings! and that destination!... God also has revealed to me how good the good place is!...and even though that is amazing beyond compare...I am still motivated more by avoiding the fear!!
God then blessed me with personal revelation in many different ways *first and foremost I received direct revelation from God that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He was crucified for the sins of the world. I declare that fact boldly now and ever since God showed me. I believe that is one of the main reasons I am on the Earth...to declare that sacred truth!...also I experienced visions, and the Holy Ghost, and God showed me that the Book of Mormon is true...also answered prayers...and actual miraculous intervention from the other side of the veil...I guess the short answer is...God saved me and God showed me directly that He is real and what Church He wanted me to join!. I am still striving to try to get my life in order however...I had lots of bad habits and characteristics...and I am constantly shocked at how bad I am doing in light of the great things God has done for me...I hope to one day prove faithful to God though
