NO---In Gods written word their are but two roads one can take in reality-- they are--- The cramped narrow path that leads to eternal life, few will find it-- or the broad and spacious path that leads to destruction.
the narrow path means this-- few will find it, because it is a very hard path to try and walk on, each sin is a step off of this path-- its not eternal life handed to one by just believing-or by being told by another that you are saved. its a 24/7 way of life--living a righteous life-- practicing not sinning. living not for this life, but for the life found within Gods kingdom.
the broad and spacious path--- maybe going an hour a week to a spiritual meeting-- thinking one can sin and ask forgivness and keep on doing the sin and asking forgivness,etc,etc--that is a mockery of why Gods son died-- this is an easy walking path that obviously the majority are on because they are being mislead. its a guarantee that satan has made walking the narrow path one of the hardest accomplishments a human can do in a lifetime.
But Gods son has shown everyone the key--- John 17:1-6---Jesus said-- this means eternal life, their taking in knowledge( meant true knowledge and applying it obviously) of you(Father = Jehovah) THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and of the one you sent forth, Jesus.
Isnt taking ones time to learn and apply Gods laws and statutes worth this whole lifetime if thats what it takes to gain eternal life? like Gods word says--In the last days men will be lovers of money, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. being told they are saved, yet they walk the broad and spacious path--such a shame.

No paths lead to God. On the plus side, all religious paths lead to the delusion of God, so I guess you have that going for you. After you die, you won't know the difference.

Christians have believed that they were living in the last days ever since the beginning of Christianity itself. Jesus himself believed so, and you see it in Mark 9:1 and Mark 13:30. For Jesus, it made sense to propose that the path to salvation is narrow. He believed that only those who adhere perfectly to Jewish law and abandon their families to follow himself would inherit eternal life (Mark 10:17-22). Today, Christianity is the largest religion, no longer a cult, and the path is no longer narrow, except with some creative thought.

No it doesn't. God's Word is was and always shall be, but proves nothing. You are assigning to God those things you believe great in yourself. "All great sin is done in the belief it is good."

You must read scripture out of context--Jesus knew the last days were a long time away from when he was on earth-- at Mark 9:1--he is speaking to( the bride of Christ-the little flock-the 144,000), some of those would be on the earth in the last days. Remember 1000 years is a day to God--so it has only been 2 days in a sense since Jesus spoke those words-- and most likely the christianity you speak about isnt christianity at all in reality.
Can a family member hand to you eternal life? And he meant if they opposed the truth of God and his will.

kjw47, my motto for interpreting the Bible is: "If plain sense makes common sense, seek no other sense." I like to interpret the gospels plainly if it makes plausible ancient sense. I don't like to find meanings that are not plainly evident on the surface. That is how I make sense of all texts, not just the Bible.

rod of iron=gospel
spacious building=world laughing at believers
fruit=eternal life
strait and narrow path=way to God
mist of darkness=temptations
forbidden paths=worldly ways

19 And I beheld a rod of iron, and it extended along the bank of the river, and led to the tree by which I stood.

20 And I also beheld a strait and narrow path, which came along by the rod of iron, even to the tree by which I stood; and it also led by the head of the fountain, unto a large and spacious field, as if it had been a world.

21 And I saw numberless concourses of people, many of whom were pressing forward, that they might obtain the path which led unto the tree by which I stood.

22 And it came to pass that they did come forth, and commence in the path which led to the tree.

23 And it came to pass that there arose a mist of darkness; yea, even an exceedingly great mist of darkness, insomuch that they who had commenced in the path did lose their way, that they wandered off and were lost.

24 And it came to pass that I beheld others pressing forward, and they came forth and caught hold of the end of the rod of iron; and they did press forward through the mist of darkness, clinging to the rod of iron, even until they did come forth and partake of the fruit of the tree.

25 And after they had partaken of the fruit of the tree they did cast their eyes about as if they were ashamed.

26 And I also cast my eyes round about, and beheld, on the other side of the river of water, a great and spacious building; and it stood as it were in the air, high above the earth.

27 And it was filled with people, both old and young, both male and female; and their manner of dress was exceedingly fine; and they were in the attitude of mocking and pointing their fingers towards those who had come at and were partaking of the fruit.

28 And after they had tasted of the fruit they were ashamed, because of those that were scoffing at them; and they fell away into forbidden paths and were lost.

29 And now I, Nephi, do not speak all the words of my father.

30 But, to be short in writing, behold, he saw other multitudes pressing forward; and they came and caught hold of the end of the rod of iron; and they did press their way forward, continually holding fast to the rod of iron, until they came forth and fell down and partook of the fruit of the tree.

31 And he also saw other multitudes feeling their way towards that great and spacious building.

32 And it came to pass that many were drowned in the depths of the fountain; and many were lost from his view, wandering in strange roads.

33 And great was the multitude that did enter into that strange building. And after they did enter into that building they did point the finger of scorn at me and those that were partaking of the fruit also; but we heeded them not.

None for you maybe, I'm on it right now and let me tell you it is the most difficult and narrow and treacherous path I have ever had the joy of trying to stay on. Life's demons line it shoulders just waiting for the chance to push me off.

The problem with that is you have NO way to know. We do know that the likelihood of one who claims to know the totality of God's will actually knowing same is slight. We also know no one is perfect but God. The best I can do is try, through individual right agency, to do the right thing. Most people are not interested in the right thing, most prefer the certitude of the correct way.

So you're on a narrow, difficult, treacherous path that leads to nowhere? That's unfortunate. Why not make it easy on yourself and enjoy the path to nowhere.

As the Zen Proverb says:
"Life is like a boat that's about to sail out to sea and sink."
-- Zen Proverb

Heaven has a 0.001% chance of existing and this life is 100% likely to exist. So why waste your 100% certain life on a 0.001% chance life?

the narrow path means this-- few will find it, because it is a very hard path to try and walk on, each sin is a step off of this path-- its not eternal life handed to one by just believing-or by being told by another that you are saved. its a 24/7 way of life--living a righteous life-- practicing not sinning. living not for this life, but for the life found within Gods kingdom.
the broad and spacious path--- maybe going an hour a week to a spiritual meeting-- thinking one can sin and ask forgivness and keep on doing the sin and asking forgivness,etc,etc--that is a mockery of why Gods son died-- this is an easy walking path that obviously the majority are on because they are being mislead. its a guarantee that satan has made walking the narrow path one of the hardest accomplishments a human can do in a lifetime.
Isnt taking ones time to learn and apply Gods laws and statutes worth this whole lifetime if thats what it takes to gain eternal life? like Gods word says--In the last days men will be lovers of money, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. being told they are saved, yet they walk the broad and spacious path--such a shame.

haha... you make me laugh.

They don't: What does Christianity say about 18th century British Politics, or Xenu?

Good day to you Lotus-flower, the book of daniel( over 2000 years old) goes along with the book of revelation( almost 2000 years old) we are seeing the completion of its prophecys right now.But Gods word said--the world took no note( of these events) It proves these words were from a higher power, namely God. Can you see the events unfolding?
