It is not actually a religion. It is meant to mock Creationists and their unconstitutional religious agendas.

I can't tell you how many times I have to stop trolling people with Pastafarianism to explain the joke. How is it that they REALLY don't get the satire? It's like that hilarious video with Stephen Colbert pwning Bill O'Reilly on his own show.

To say that is true of all Creationists is disingenuous.

Besides, I don't think creationism and evolution are mutually exclusive.

the FSM was introduced prior to Dover when the creationists were trying to get creationism in science class. That is hat the constitutional remark is about.

I'm really offended that you guys are making a joke of the religion FREEDO and I practice. It shows the true limits of how far religious tolerance can go when I witness the puerile derision espoused by Christians. Grow up, children.

My recollection is that the FSM was invented for a court case in which it was argued that if time was classroom time was allotted for teaching one religious belief, then the FSM deserved equal time. The point was that government cannot judge which religions are valid and which are not. The FSM has stuck around.

The Constitutional prohibition is against "establishment of religion." I think that meant establishing a state religion, but courts have interpreted it as religious advocacy. Secular humanists are therefore protected.

Creationism is believed by 0.15% of scientists. It's a religious belief, not a scientific one.
