Interesting, I don't think so as pastafarian is more of a joke than anything. Unless of course, someone has been touched by his noodley appendage.

I imagine there maybe one or two people who are just especially incapable of picking up on satire.

Pastafarianism is more so an argument by satire than it is a belief system.

I think the question was meant to be;

Can religious folk understand satire?

Which is a terribly condescending and patronizing question.

If anyone should be able to recognize satire, it's the religious. Their creeds are each a satire of the next.

Lol. Agreed.

Ps. DAT - Your tumbleweed video isn't funny anymore, if it ever was...

This thread has been done before, a FEW times.
So the tumbleweed is poignant, which always beats funny. (which is so subjective)

Agree with DAT. "LURK MOAR"

So the tumbleweed is poignant, which always beats funny. (which is so subjective)

You could find a different video with the same effect. The same video gets repetitive, and so it lessens the effect.

Excuse me? Pastafarians believe in the flying spaghetti monster. That means that they per definition are not atheist, as the believe in a creator god. They could possible be agnostic buy saying "I don't KNOW, but I BELIEVE", but that's kinda cheating. :-P

Or did you mean "Are there any who say they are Pastafarians who actually mean it?" ;-)
So prove me wrong, then.

I meant, are there any Pastafarians who were originally Christian, or Deist, or something besides atheist or agnostic?

My main reason for asking is that I want to change my religion to Pastafarian but want everyone to know that I am an atheist.

P.S. I forgot about this thread for five days.

Pastafarianism is a satire on theology. So in short: no, there are no theological pastafarians. I suppose someone could be deist and still mock theology via pastafarianism. Generally, though, most people equate it with atheism and agnosticism.

Pastafarianism isn't even an argument against theism. It's an argument against teaching creationism in schools.
