Really? Is this what people are degrading to?

Life without Jesus is wasted - suspended for a week.

Sad. Atheists expect Christians to leave them alone so why won't they leave Christians the hell alone?

Hypocrites.

If I were the student I would bring this up to SCOTUS if I had to. Muslim girls can wear hijabs (and rightfully so), so obviously the expression of religion is permissible.

And then there's a link below the story to another article that's even more pathetic in my opinion:

Check out the second link carefully. The complaint has been filed by a lawyer, and not students. From what I know about US, stunt cases by lawyers should not surprise anyone.
The Holy Quran 29:19-20

See they not how Allah originates creation, then repeats it: truly that is easy for Allah.

Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things.

I agree, the original complaint seems unwarranted. It's also sad that a shirt saying "Life is wasted with Jesus" would have caused a similar uproar. Our society is filled with hyper-sensitives.

First that article needed a competent editor. Second, maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anything about atheists in the story.

No, actually, that's considered pretty trifling and unprofessional, here.

The problem is insisting that anyone who disagrees is wrong. This person said people who are not Christian are wasting their lives.

He could have said, "Jesus gives my life meaning," which is a personal testimony, and should not have had a problem.

I am sure Christians would object to, "Life with Jesus is a wasted life," but not object as much to something like, "My life is complete without any need for God." The first one is putting down those who disagree, and the second one is simply a personal testimony.

This analysis is spot-on.

The first story is from Canada, where there is no guarantee of free speech anywhere.

In any case, free speech does not apply to high schools. What's preposterous is claiming that the T-shirt is hate speech. It may or may not cause a ruckus in the school, and I'd say that school administrators have a right to ban it if they reasonably believe it would be a distraction from education. In California, a T-shirt with "Drums cannot cure disease." might be so upsetting to Wiccans as to interrupt classes.

School uniforms should be required. Solves the problem.

Good to hear a Canadian school represents all atheists.

Would you be as angered if a Catholic school suspended someone for having a shirt that says "Your life is wasted if you believe in Jesus?"

Or are you just indignant when the poor, minority group known as "white Christians in the western hemisphere" come under the attack of the evil secularists?
