This is a thread where I mostly want to hear how much you would bet that God does or does not exist and you are given $500,000 to use. Lets say I bet $200,000 that God exists. If I lose, I will lose double the amount I bet, so that brings my cash down to $100,000 or 500,000 - 200,000*2. If I win, I gain ten time the amount I bet, so in this situation I am up to $2,300,000 or the 300,000 remaining + 200,000*10.

bet: 0, 100,000, 200,000, 300,000, 400,000, 500,000
Money if win: 500,000, 1,400,000, 2,300,000, 3,200,000, 4,100,000, 5,000,000
Money if lose: 500,000, 300,000, 100,000, -100,000, -300,000, -500,000

I would just keep the money. I stayed in the hotel at Vegas.

ROFL.

I will bet... of course is it like insider trading or a violation of gaming rules if you know God exists due to meeting him?

Nope. There are no regulators around. So what's your bet?

If I had to, I'd bet it all on him not existing. I'm already betting my eternal soul on it.

You could argue that God's presence is "public knowledge" and that some simply ignore it, so it can't be considered "insider trading."

Good point. I still would like to be clear about the regulators!

Gaining the knowledge that God did or did not exist would be enough to far outweigh any loss/gain so I'd probably just do a few dollars.

How and when do you find out if you won or lost? If you have to die first, then you don't get the money either way you bet,so what is the point of making the bet?

Really though, what happens if the Muslim God is correct and anyone who worships the Christian God goes to hell? Which of us get money?

Or does that just mean we split the odd between the Christian and Muslim gods?

The OP just said "God". But what happens if there is a pantheon of Gods? Choices, choices....

I put all my money on at least one God existing.
