Mmm. It's like the new-agers and hippies: "let's be open minded about anything OTHER than Jesus Christ!"

That alone would make me deeply suspicious of my own motives.

He wasn't the first to say it, definitely. That's a very, very old saying.

Not true. New Agers do accept Jesus, as an initiate of the Mystery Schools and believe him to be one of many enlightened and divine beings. So it is incorrect to say New Agers are "close minded" about Christ. You are the one with the closed mind.

They do not accept Christ on His OWN terms:
" I am THE way, THE truth and THE Life, No one comes to the Father EXCEPT BY ME. "
Which means they DO NOT ACCEPT HIM.
Acceptance on ones own terms is non acceptance.

I got a chuckle out of that one.

I always liked a few from Mark Twain:

I am quite sure now that often, very often, in matters concerning religion and politics a man's reasoning powers are not above the monkey's.
- Mark Twain

(in relation to Christianity specifically):

"It ain't the parts of the Bible that I can't understand that bothers me, it is the parts that I do understand." - Mark Twain

Did albert einstein really say that? That short paragraph summed up about 3 years of soul searching for me, and even now, I'm unable to explain my beliefs as succinctly as he did. Perhaps this really is true genius.
