I think I may have found a new hero. I've heard of him before but never done any research on him. I found this debate though and was impressed. This guy made an avid evolution preaching science teacher cry about having misled his students, after a debate with him. Anyone know anything about Dr. Kent Hovind??

Honestly though, unless you've never seen anything Kent Hovind's actually argued, I've lost some respect for you. He makes those Croco-duck twits look like Platinga.

You like any dimwitted quote or video that happens to confidently affirm your equally pathetic opinions, and from there you center the topic of your threads. You're not interested in having a conversation, you're interested in asserting a Christian presence that makes you feel more comfortable.

To assign truth value to something as complex as huge scientific concepts such as evolutions to a 2hr debate you heard is pretty hasty.

Your hero is in jail. :P but seriously, both creationists and non-creationists alike criticize him. I seriously suggest you read this...http://en.wikipedia.org...

So.

Pigliucci indicated surprise at hearing Hovind try "to convince the audience that evolutionists believe humans came from rocks" and at Hovind's assertion that biologists believe humans "evolved from bananas." (Massimo Pigliucci. Denying Evolution: Creationism, Scientism, and the Nature of Science. (Sinauer, 2002): ISBN page 102.)

Seems very intelligent.

lmao, you don't deny it? So....the problem with this is that it makes you look incredibly impetuous and unreasonable, while also diminishing the value of your opinion. It's also needlessly provocative and disruptive, and amounts to nothing of intellectual value.

I mean, seriously, when you have Answers in Genesis critiquing you for using bad arguments in favor of YEC there is something amiss here.

I'm going to stick to ONLY his beliefs on Evolution. But I HIGHLY, HIGHLY suggest checking his views on Democracy, Egyptian pyramids, 9/11, IRS tax rights, and cures for cancer.

Here's Hovind explaining how not only were dinosaurs in the Bible, but they survived the flood in the form of DRAGONS that we see in many medieval tales.

Creationist Hugh Ross debates Hovind and states how utterly wrong he is:

Here's Creation Ministeries (YEC group) blasting Hovind: http://creation.com...

Carl Wieland, famous AnswersinGenesis Creationist, blasts him as a liar and fraud: http://creation.com...

CREATIONIST Greg Neyman, (Old Earth Creationism) blasts Hovind as a liar and fraud: http://www.oldearth.org...

Here's Hovind explaining abiogenesis as man coming from a rock.
http://archive.org...

You'll notice I have yet to cite a SINGLE NON-CREATIONIST in decimating Hovind.

It does not matter how he explains that statement. Evolution simply does not posit that humans evolve from rocks...

Come on... Medic. Stand up to your quote on my sig. Don't even pretend that the reason why you don't like evolution is because of your religious convictions. Stop presenting this false dichotomy that it's Darwin vs. God- evolution has absolutely nothing to do with religion, it is scientific fact.

If you get far enough, Hovind makes this AMAZINGLY blantant lie which gets called out. He says his evidence is based on a multi-variate analysis done on "Lucy."

You can't do a multi-variate analysis when the sample size is 1.

Anyone who knows basic statistics would know Hovind was lying.

Evolution demonstrates how a supernatural being is not necessary in the development of life, and abiogenesis (which ties in with evolution) demonstrates how God is not necessary for the origin of life. Science and the heroic set of studies that it stands for, are gradually demolishing old conceptions about life, and the next target on sight is the idea of freewill, and then cartesian consciousness.

This has everything to do with the God debate. This will be the END of the God debate....as demonstrated by the creeping rise in global atheism.

Cause, Christianity still doesn't make up 1/3 of the population of the whole freaking earth and growing. O WAIT.

But regardless, Evolution cannot explain "the beginning". That is the key part. It can't explain where it all came from. I'm not talking just life, I mean just stuff in general.

It would only the end of a particular God: one whose scripture is interpretted as relying historical fact instead of mythological and psychological content. Buddhists and Hindus learned this long ago. They tell stories about the Buddha coming out of his mother's side, but no one actually believes a guy called Buddha was born by climbing out of his mother's side. The hindus have a multitude of analytically "conflicting" creation stories which are a coherent unity when understand as conveying an underlying philosophy and psychology.
